Sephiroth v.s. Kratos

The same can be said about your "spell spell" no real canon description or anything, infact, it's an optional spell also isn't it? Simply turns common grunts into bots.

It actually does have a canon description, but good luck tracking down a Nintendo document from before you were born. If you can find someone with the instruction manual for the game, ask them to look at it. Kratos still wins this thread, and Link wins the other one.

Actually it doesn't, the only canon description is "Remember the word". That the guy tells you when you attain it. Doesn't describe the spell or anything.

BT, stop talking about Sephiroth before you do any research. Supernova is a real canon move, just like Omnislash or any of the materia spells. IN Crisis Core we're even told that Supernova is his signature move, so we know he's had it all along. The only thing that is an illusion with Supernova is the sun blowing up, the spell and the damage it does to the target is very real.

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOES, I THINK SEPH HAS JUST WON.

Dante beats Seph[FF7]? Seph beats Kratos? Kratos beats Dante? What the ****?

I still don't see how Kratos would beable to escape Sephiroths willpower, as it did hold immobile a power that is powerful enough to threaten the entire planet, Sephiroth is also much faster, and even if Kratos can simply summon the Cloud, he has to strike it into the ground, Sephiroths willpower TK works on a thought, which is faster, and with a simple gesture his NL is summoned as well.
game source only.

It's just an explosion. o_o a poorly named one with an illusion tied to it that makes it seem so hardcore, when it's just a silly explosion.

supernova=illusion which kratos is resistant to.

Supernova lilkely doesnt do anything much at all apart from scare the opponent into thinking Sephiroth is more than just a girly man.

No, Supernova = powerful magical attack that is Sephiroth's signature move. The sun exploding is the only illusion involved, the damage it could do to Kratos is very real.

LOL rubbish. Firstly it is a gameplay move that has shown no use in canon outside of it. (unlike say Ultima in FF9) It 'destroys' a couple of planets in the solar system before it 'hits' the sun.

Are you telling me that he destroys Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter everytime he casts that move? It is simply an illusion that doesn't even kill the party in one hit.

But it[suernova] causes damage, therefore would hurt Kratos, surely he isn't invulnerable to being damaged. Just because you do not want a spell to be canon doesn't make it non-canon, it is in the game, it does happen and it does hurt the player, this is canon this is what happens. Now you can either accept what the creators have said about the spell and logical conclusions or you can continue to ignore a spell in a game whatever tickles your fancy because it doesn't matter if Sephiroth can't use Supernova.

Sephiroth could fly up and cast Bolt3 on Kratos over and over until he dies?

Kratos can't(?) fly and as far as I am aware Materia doesn't work in the fact that you aim and shoot, you just shoot and it hits unless they are immune or have a defense against it.

Saying Seph doesn't have to aim[an obvious turn based game mechanic.] is like Saying Seph has to standstill and wait his turn to fight. 😆

yeah Kratos can catch lightning try again. and better yet use it. Flying does not grant you a victory considering the opponents is someone who can swing his blades faster than Sephiroth. and from what i recall Kratos can stone sephiroth.

No, he can't stone him.

Okay, he uses Fire3.

If the opponent cannot touch you but you can touch him, it is victory.

whoopee dop!!! Kratos can use fire too with Efteet fire a attack that continues attacking the target.

Lol, yeah, Seph loses this, badly.

Sephiroth has stood within flames without a hint of pain at all, or discolouration of the skin, nothing to show that it affected him at all.

Again, Sephiroth flies high into the sky and continually casts Fire3 on Kratos until Kratos is dead.
