Indys death

I wonder what would her/his/it's equivalent of the Batarang would've been....

a bible

p.s. no religious "poking-fun-at" intended. i was simply imagining - given we're talking about a bloody brawl between this religious Saint - what her weapon of choice would be...

She actually confessed in letters to her church to having lost her faith. ("This crisis of faith began in 1946, the same year that she began her evangelistic work among the poor in Kolkata, and continued unabated, except for a few weeks in 1958, until her death in 1997. The church assigned a long series of priests and bishops to act as her confessors, trying to help her recover her faith, but all of them ultimately met with failure."😉

" I call, I cling, I want — and there is no One to answer — no One on Whom I can cling — no, No One. — Alone ... Where is my Faith — even deep down right in there is nothing, but emptiness & darkness — My God — how painful is this unknown pain — I have no Faith — I dare not utter the words & thoughts that crowd in my heart — & make me suffer untold agony.

So many unanswered questions live within me afraid to uncover them — because of the blasphemy — If there be God — please forgive me — When I try to raise my thoughts to Heaven — there is such convicting emptiness that those very thoughts return like sharp knives & hurt my very soul. — I am told God loves me — and yet the reality of darkness & coldness & emptiness is so great that nothing touches my soul." - Mother Thersa in a letter to her church.

So maybe a sandal might be a more effective weapon in her eyes.

that's kind of ironic. she's seen as a religious figure...lol

Yep It certainly is.

Its info thats only comparatively recently come to light.
Word'll be spread, and the irony will eventually be appreciated world wide, no doubt.

(And its fuel for the argument that altruism comes from within (Dawkins' position of peoples morals essentially coming from genetic memory of social/survival rules, rather than belief in god.)

I dunno... she sounds like a real believer though: persisting in her work, yet knowing the feeling of abandonement... just like the people she was helping. Believers that have regulars doubts are usually quite persistant ones, as well as honest ones.

I think she sounds more like an Agnostic atheist.
And she was ANYTHING but honest.

I think you may need to consider this:

Looks interesting. What's the gest of it? I haven't the time to watch it all.

She took the money from the poor, gave to the rich, did business with all manner of despots behind sometimes closed doors that would crush the people she claimed to represent.

She claimed not to be political figure yet would go around altering laws with politicians especially with abortion laws, being anti contraceptive too, all in aids stricken africa...
She used dirty needles to treat "patients", as there was "no point" in her view sterilizing them.
She was not interested in saving lives, just trying to convert the dying, into something that she herself did not believe.
The list goes on.

I did watch it... but I do think it's a tad suggestive all that. She may have been very very naive and sticking to the old ways instead of atively looking for improvement. I doubt she was some evil genius.

lol, sounds like a stereotypical sadistic old ***** you find in most places. you'll get a cut and they'll poor vinegar or vodka on it just to watch you squirm and when you cry out "WHY!!!" they reply with, "Because it will sterilize it dear" "I'm not a deer, I'm a human being!!!" "Sorry?! Could you speak a little louder?"

😂

i had a crazy moment...i kinda went into myself and lost all chain of rational thought

😛 It happens.

Yeah Queeq, I doubt evil was in her heart, she honestly believed, by the looks of it that as long as they were converted they were safe after death.

Which of course, is just as dangerous as conscious evil.

Yes, but one thing struck me watching that is that all these famous people kinda used her o show off how good they were themselves. You can kinda get in this circle where everyone hails you as a saint, you start believing it without improving yourself. Obviously, the whole world was happy calling her a saint and used her for their own propaganda.

It was a definite two way street there, in that regard. Yes.

For sure. It's sad to see she didn't try to cure these people. Hygiene and a little medical knowlegde can do miracles in a place like that.

Absolutely.

Weird though...

And dark/disturbing.
