STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Puppets

"A few hours, I 'spose," he says.

The events he has described happened two days ago, Tanic. You that after that Garel sent a security team of commandos up to investigate what had happened and why they could not get in contact with the station.

The very same security team attacked you in the control room, and between you and Kay, they were all cut down. None survived.

Wow. So they don't remember what they did, or why it happened. Tanic is somewhat at a loss.

"Can somebody show me the transport logs for the last shuttle up?" He asks, "I'd like to see if we can find this guy's name."

He also wants to get in touch with Garel itself, see if anybody down there knows how he got onto the ship.

Tanic gets the attention of somebody with some kind of authorisation:
"I need to see the specs for the station. I'd like to know if any damage has been done - other than by the security team or us."

The transport logs are actually being used to establish the casualties and survivors of this crisis. With help from the docking bay authority, you manage to get a name. A dock worker named Jull had failed to take the transport this past week, but his access card was used today.

He is currently listed as 'Missing.'

A systems check for damage is being performed, as you requested.

As for getting in touch with Garel, you may have to venture down to the surface in order to get the information you need. The comms systems appear to be out on the station.

Crap. Don't really want to leave the station.

Can I get any more data on Jull without having to go planetside?

All you can find out from station records is that he had a clean slate, was a skilled mechanic, and always made fantastic meals for company picnics to the First Forest of Garel.

Any answers in that direction most probably lie on Garel itself.

The results of the systems check are coming back. It seems the attacker sabotaged the processing process of the gas mining. The way it is currently configured, reactivating the gas processing procedure would simply ignite all gas stored in the station and the containers would explode, taking out the station. It seems Jedi intervention stopped the attacker from completing his scheme!

They have brought the comms back online and also the sensors... which are reporting that a starship is moving away from the station.

Ah, can we identify it?

Hail it, anyway, demand that they return.

Yes you can. It is a small four-man Jedi craft.

Very odd, it looks like the one you arrived in.

Is it ours?

Come to think of it, it must be!

"Master!" Tanic calls, with some alarm, "He's taken our ship!"

Tanic runs out, making the shortest beeline for the hangar. What other ships are there there? Anything with weapons?

The troop transport is all that remains in the hangar, and it appears to be armed.

"We won't catch him in time," Kay says. "But we can try! Get in."

Tanic gets in, and takes the pilot seat (unless Kay is a better pilot). They speed out of the hangar.

Kay is the better pilot, but not by much. You are a terrible pilot, remember.

Unfortunately, the Puppet Master has a head-start on you and is also flying a much faster craft. The transport is not meant for high-speed space chases. But you are able to follow him.

"Do we follow him down onto Garel?" Kay asks.

"I don't think we can let him get away," Tanic says, "Can the authorities on the planet track his descent?"

He'll get on the comms, try and get the Garel planet authorities to intercept the ship if they can...

The Garel authorities want to know what is going on, but they agree to track the starships.

"Master, do we tell them everything? Is it worth risking more lives?"

"They should be informed of the danger," Kay says. "I hate to think of what the Puppet Master might be capable of in an urban setting..."

Tanic gets back to Garel, warning them not to allow the ship to land anywhere a town or city.

He pauses, "Shall I instruct them to shoot him down if necessary?"

"Yes."

Garel has limited defenses for shooting down ships, but they will ward off the starship with their airspeeders, if they can.

Tanic does so.

"But don't get too close," he says.

Don't want any airspeeders following his commands, that's for sure.
