Maybe it beats them as a film all round, but the set pieces, like they always are in Bond are big and tame. Bourne on the other hand is unpredictable, economical and realistic. While Bond is faffing about with his martinis, machoism and mysogony, Bourne has already clobbered himself out of a trap with a toothpick and a three month old copy of The Times.
