Did you forget how badly torn apart Superboy Prime's suit was damaged during the Sinestro Corps War? Not like it matters since even if you try to get rid of the S shield, Prime still has it on his flesh.

Prime was at half strength for most of that fight. He only hit full power once the sun rose.

The Green Lanterns had him depowered since Infinite Crisis, he wasn't back to full power until daylight that day. He was fighting them all off at partial power, for a portion of the night. Given the group he was fighting, it was quite a feat.

Other than the universal big bang at the end. That fight was actually worse that Ion's if that were possible. Ugh.

Seriously if he absorbs this blast too then people will just start saying that he'll be able to absorb the Power Cosmic, or any other kind of energy. Seriously he'd become like an energy absorber. THat is a scary thought.
