most endearing strongheaded protagonist

k. every1's well aware of the stubborn, humurous and less than smart stereotypical protagonist. which one is your favourit and why? heres a list to state a few

inuyasha- inuyasha
recca- flame of recca
yasuke- yu yu hakusho
ichigo- bleach
suichiro- tenjou tenge
goku- dragon ball
alan walker- d.grayman
edward elric- fullmetal alchemist
jio freed- 666satan
luffy- one piece
naruto/rock lee- naruto
vash the stampede- trigun
edward- cowboy bebop
sister rosette- crono crusade
lina inverse- slayer
dark scnieder- bastard
seiya- saint seiya
kenshin- rurourni kenshin
lupin the 3rd- lupin the 3rd
sora- kingdom hearts
musashi- grander musashi
ashitoka- pokemon
megamane- megaman
sonic - sonic the hedgehog

Luffy and Zoro, 'cuz their strongheadedness factor is frighteningly hooge. Closely following would be Ichigo, because he does the strongheaded thing with style.

Kenshin dun strike me as that strongheaded, though. =/

Kenshin may act it but I don't think he really fits there either

I gotta go with Recca. Everything he ever did is nothing but him being stubborn from beating Tokiya because he cut Yanagi's hair, releasing his dragons when he meets Kurei even though it nearly killed him and he still yelled at Resshin to stop or he'd kick it's butt if it hurt Yanagi and he's one of my favorite anime characters because of his dumbness that keeps him from knowing when he's beaten.

I don't think Ed from Bebop should be on that list. Considering she's a genius that tend to just roll with the punches.

no1 mentioned naruto or inuyasha though.

Jubei Kimagami from Ninja Scroll

hmmm, but does jubei really fit the stereotype? he isnt wacky or dumb. oh well, oppinions.

Goku mos def. He simply endures.

goku fo sho.

also ryoko from the tenchi series. IMO she fits

I would have to say Goku as well, because he's pretty much the king of the stubborn, humorous, less than smart stereotype.

How is Goku endearing?

He's certainly the ultimate stubborn goofball though.

Naruto no contest.

His whole point of existence is about taking attacks thats supposed to keep you down, and just getting up.

Hence why he never loses when it counts.

So in other words, Naruto's just like every other stereotypical Shonen hero ever.

Of those, Yusuke and Dark Schneider.

But Jotaro Kujo and Joseph Joestar are my favorites

Yeah, basically.

There's no such thing as an original aniem character though. Not anymore.

i forgot bout yusuke. yusuke yuremeshi was one of the best protagonists EVER. he deserves his credit. honestly im very sad that show is over. i wish they would make more eps (cry's softly)

There's actually plenty, but you have to look past the Goku/Luffy/Naruto archetype. Plenty of people rarely ever say die when matters get grim.

In the Fullmetal Alchemist series, Ed ended up trapped in another dimension inside Gluttony's stomach and even had a pole stick through his gut and he still refused to give up for the ones he cared about. I still conisder him more original than the typical shonen hero.

Ed is just as stereotypical as Naruto is, if I'm thinking of the right guy.

Headstrong, gets pissed off really easily, not afraid to speak his mind, etc.

Except none of that is what makes a shonen hero a stereotype. Goku, Luffy, Gon, and Kazuki (Buso Renkin) don't really get angry easily and practically every one in manga is head strong.

You basically just listed what Naruto and Ed have in common minus the blonde hair.
