Stigmata true or false?

I just got finished watching 'I Know Who Killed Me' and it shows and talks bout stigmata in there. Lindsay Lohan in the movie looks it up on the computer and i was just curious about this and just wanted to hear some opinions about this topic.

the stigmata is myth, although there have been documented cases of the stigmata, most of them have been proven to be fake
