Okay now, here's a little photo journal of my gig at the L.A. Convention Center. I was hired to play assistant guitar for an L.A. based Jazz band, and lead guitar for a punk/ska group we know very well at this music festival that was held yesterday.
Here's the convention center at it appears the minute I was pulled in in a sweet ass limo.
This is a photo I took of the cityscape around the convention center as the elevator took me downstairs to mingle with the fans and whatnot.
Before I did anything though, they assigned me a green room to change into costume and leave my backpack or hang up my clothes, my room was so strange, because it was just this big ass room with a bathrooms in the corner, one for men and another for women, and a few coathangers in a small closet. I had enough space here to put my entire house! By this time, I really wanted an Iced Coffee...
Up next was the Pico BLVD entrance, it's not a big deal, but alot of famous people have entered through here, and it's also where I entered when I played my very first gig nine years ago, I was a wee Goatling then, ah good memories. Still wanted a goddamn Iced Coffee.
Here's the main lobby of the Convention Center, it was weird seeing it empty, only a few people signing up for who knows what and VIP fans who were allowed to roam all over the place. No Iced Coffee being sold anywhere, by this time, I was looking for a blasted Starbucks.
So I found this really cool balcony where I shot this here. This picture was taken about an hour before everyone showed up, so there's still not that many people. Still no Iced Coffee, but I wasn't too worried about it right now, since there were so many fans wanting to talk to all of us playing there.
Then an hour later, OH MY CRAP! Close to 5,000 people showed up making up a long ass line as far as the eye can see, it was hot out that day, and I wanted my damn iced coffee. Met some really cool Vigaku fans among the crowd who came to see me, it was nice of them.
