Hmmm...
I don't know if this is as 'cut and dried' as everyone here is making it out to be...
Kubik is a 'evolved' cosmic cube...to my understanding of what a cosmic cube is/does, it allows nearly unlimited reality-shaping abilities...but isn't this strictly over the physical plane??
Chthon, being an elder god, is a being of magic...of the metaphysical plane. I'm not sure there is a lot of what Kubik could do to affect Chthon's essense...
If this were Doctor Strange with Chthon's power against Kubik I'd go with Kubik in a heartbeat as Doc still has a physical body...Chthon does not.

I have an issue where Kubik controlled reality within 616, from 4 dimensional space,
which is another plane of reality.

which he was going to crush effortlessly, but he was talked out of it.
Chthon rules a pocket realm, and has never demonstrated even universal power.
Chthon is a tuff cookie, but Kubik should stomp him fairly easily.

I guess my hypothesis of the physical powers being unable to affect metaphysical beings springs from a lack of encounters (in my Marvel Comics reading experience anyway) between 'cosmic' beings (ei Galactus) and magical beings (ei Mephisto)...
Any classic battles between such opposite power-sets as mentioned above?

Hank Pym is currently on the verge of discovering the line that bridges Magic and Science. Defeating Chthon's magic through codes if I remember correctly and capturing Loki.Cosmic Cubes are that realisation!

Pym conversed what I originally posted and Ironman turned up, whose armour is perfect for initiating such an attack. Cho was there as well so I think he helped with his unique visual ability of seeing data when looking at the walls, they took it from there.....definitely not PIS. Scans would help but I remember feeling a bit let down by the writers skill in the execution.
