What happened to lukes black vest that was over his shirt in rotj?

He had it on tatooine but on endor he just had the black shirt. why didnt he have the jedi knight cloth vest?

He had it on Endor, until he left the ewok celebration dinner & meeting after telling Leia why he had to confront Vader. Maybe when he let the Imperials capture him, they took it off to search him - that's how the commander got the lightsaber, which he handed over to Vader.
