If electrum was saved for senior member's lightsabers then why did mace have one but not yoda?

and moderators this is relevant to the pt because yoda lost his sabre in ROTS so it wasnt in the st.

To answer your question, senior members are the only ones allowed to have them. Its a matter of choice. Yoda just probably didn't care for one and better trusted his old one.

One of the promotional commercials for Episode II showed Obi-Wan and Anakin with their light sabers and said "crystal lightsabers" and then showed Mace with his lightsaber and said "Electrum Lightsaber."

Would that make it cannon? Are commercials for an (at the time) upcoming film EU?
