this may come across as being a bit controversial, but it has been ok'd by the 'bosses'. when i chose jay i was under the impression he was the top of the food chain for speed. that has since changed. (case in point -- savitar>jay 😬 ) the limit now is anything below lightspeed. had the cap been so defined initially, i would NOT have selected jay. there are others as fast (faster) with even more versatility. because the rule was redefined AFTER i chose jay, red has been kind enough to allow me the opportunity to switch jay out.

in place of jay (who is now open to anyone who wants to draft him as part of an amalgam tonight) i will be choosing taki matsuya -- the whiz kid.

my apologies for the late switch and because the switch is late, perhaps jay should be open to the first one who wants to switch for him . . .? 😬 if the boss ok's it.

I decided to up the speed cap because alot of characters who are quite powerful have gotten through, and because of this, I'm allowing the change, etc.

memories carry over till the finale, it's actually always been like that.

Why? Whats the reasoning for that one?

And its not always like that if most no one knows about it

Wait... shouldn't we be able to draft all the Flashes since there's a speed cap?

It was always like that, it was in the original ruling when Cresh and I conceived the lay out for the tourney.

No, Don't want to allow 'em still, since the opening post still says not to, it'd mae things more complciated, etc. Not that it matters still.

'sup with infinity gems being picked? Isn't that kinda a loophole-ish way to get potentially infinite things into a Herald tourney?

With Iron Fist and Drax?

Someone picked Moony with the Mind Gem earlier too. Seems suspect to me.

It's quite limited in Moondragon/Drax's hand to be honest...

I thought that too honestly, but basically I did claim that if you draft a character who uses a weapon or tool as a regular necessity, then it could be used for the tourney, but regardless, they're limited to their scan choices i supose. Moondragon was one of the picks that was actually sent to me, and having discussed it with Newjak, he approved it. I'm a little uncomfortable with cosmics, but to compensate for some of the more powerful characters that have slipped through my tourney, i allowed it srug

And yes, it's extremely loopholeish ermm

I consider them separate entities from their wielders, as they are easily removed and put to different use. It's like drafting a log of poo in a street level tourney, but there's a GL ring lodged in it. Same idea, only with herald/abstract as the two levels instead of street/herald.

And to Hawkeye, it happens every tourney...people "slip" through higher than the intended level. It's the nature of competition, and people seeing how much they can get in. Not cheating exactly, but stretching the rules to their limits.

Then what do you propose my capiton mhmm

i think in general the level is at least pretty close to the intended level. maybe a couple snuck through, but i don't think anything too egregious.

yet. 😖hifty:

Perhaps, but none of my picks would do any better than Iron Fist or Drax with the PG.

Plus, I thought their was no limit on amalgams or something of the sort anyway.

---

I was going to pick regular Drax, but he's a little limited on appearances... either way, I'm not too upset. If the Gems are banned, then I'll pick regular beefed up Classic Drax.

I'm not talking about amalgam limits, because there are none. I'm talking about drafting artifacts with universal power in a WW tourney...no amalgamation needed. If it takes another user for it to be universal, it's a moot point, because the universal power is already there in the single-character draft pick.

Pfft! It's your tourney, not mine.

😛

...if it were me, I'd have specified that gems aren't part of standard equipment a while back (probably when Moony brought it to attention), but I'm less forgiving of potential loopholes than most, and it appears that there isn't much controversy over them otherwise.

Ah... so what you're saying is that Firestorm should be banned?

I haven't been on kmc much these past 2 weeks haermm

If it stirs a fuss, I'll axe it. All is well, etc.

The hell? No, a lot of people in the tourney can be "unlocked" to higher potential. I'd expect no less from most participants. But the character isn't above the limits, in and of themselves. In the gem's case, however, it's a non-standard equipment item whose sole purpose is to control ALL aspects of whatever their realm is (power, mind, etc.)

Oh, I'm not worried. Let them in for all I care. I point out potential problems when I see them for the public benefit, but 9 characters on a team and all the craziness that will obviously ensue from such combos, and I'm pretty much ready to just call this tournament insane. It's fun from the outside, but I get a headache reading PMs of peoples' plans, so I'm just happy I'm not in it.

it's why i'm very "laisez faire"(spelling) about this, because I want alot of variety, and versatility, which having 6 characters on a field, is practically granted. Should be fun. Digi, you up to judge a few matches if I need some extra judges, etc.
