It looks like our teams are close to finalized. There're a few lingering questions re banning Gems and whatnot. I don't see why we couldn't set a deadline for lineup changes at the end of this week and start our 1st round battles next week.
WRT Goober, should we re-arrange the pools, have his match partners fight at half-strength as per the rules, let his partners field an entire team(3 of theirs and 3 of goobs picks) even though posting solo?
I favor the last option, as it leaves the door open for DG to get back in the game if his utilities situation gets worked out sooner rather than later.
I thought about offering to take his team, because he had some good ideas and the team deserves proper treatment...problem is, he shared a few ideas with me but not all of them, and there's people on the team I'm not familiar with (and also one of his ideas seemed very suspect to me, despite the strength of most of them). I'd be nothing but a placeholder, not a legit competitor....to say nothing of the problems I'd instantly have with some of the things being allowed in to a supposedly WW tourney.
If anyone is fighting with goob's team and wants some general pointers, I'll be happy to help via PM or somesuch. But in terms of scans and detailed plans, I'm in the dark.

yeah, i agree with all the above. the longer these things sit idle the less the chances of it actually coming off . . . 😬
some direction is needed from the bosses on this thing. prep questions, line-up changes, i had a few specific questions that i pm'd a couple days ago and still haven't heard about. i'm loving the idea of this tourney but we need to get things moving along.

Here's another thing that needs to be clarified:

That's how I debate in matches 😆
8 per team is the limit, hence 4 per person.
What do you have in mind in terms of on limiting the post length?

Well it turns out I'll have the Internet for a while longer, but I'm still not going to be online anywhere near enough to actually participate because of things that have to be done here at home. However if you or anyone else want to replace me and field my team, I should be able to find enough time to help with scans and give the details on the strategies I was going to utilize.
I hope someone takes you up on that. Red asked me to, but I declined because I know too many others' strategies (leo, Charlotte, some of Blair's, smatterings of others, etc.). Getting to re-pick if I wanted would be an unfair advantage (though, admittedly, I'd keep most of your team), because I'd get to do it after everyone else and with full knowledge of at least 3-4 plans, and a chance to see everyone's completed teams.
As it is, I'm going to be advisor to a few, and occasional judge for the tourney. I've requested that I not judge matches involving leo or Trick (leo's a good friend, I just got Trick booted from Evangel's...wouldn't want to be accused of bias in either situation). Otherwise, I'm looking forward to matches.

Alright, enough drifting here. Let's make things happen.
1: [b]See my post on page 28 of the ban/trade thread. Basically, I suggest that we finalize teams by the weekend.
That sounds all right, since matches begin Wednesday
8 posts/per match is per player, not per team. Keep posts under roughly 1000 words max. That way everyone can post about once per day in a one week match. If everyone has used all their posts before the week is out, the judges can begin to vote at any time.
That sounds fine
BFR/OHK definitionIf an attack is completely unstoppable/irresistible by any means for most characters in this power class (judges have some discretion here) it should not be used or considered. If it is something that can reasonably be dodged, resisted, overcome with powers and abilities within this range, it's fair game.that sounds pretty textbook, and should be regarded as good clarification to judges.
Match locales and setups.Let's open a thread where we can all suggest match locales and situations. We'll lay out some basic guidelines (like no completely lethal environments unless some space-suits are available, etc) and get creative. Some expansive, some enclosed, some with prep-time, some with none, and so-on.
Well, upon conceiving the idea for this tourney, I intended on doing that, and when Newjak became my partner, he took it upon himself to come up with the locations for battle. So ask Newjak for clarification on this one, because it would be rather unfair to him, to open a thread up like that.
A couple days before a match, the judges for that match pick one of the locales and inform the players. Since we'll have two matches in each pool, the judges should pick one with meaningful prep-time and one with little or none for each pool. The players should then PM the judges with their line-ups before the match begins, so the don't know whom the other team is fielding until things start.
Well, the way matches begin, is basically I'll make the thread, with all the information in it a few days before the match, I'll pm users as a reminder, should the thread get lost. All matches begin at the same time, but not necessarily on the same day, etc.
Match Schedule: Let's start Monday! A start time can be agreed upon by the players involved. Let's begin with PoolA Round 1 and go from there. Ass soon as we hit 8posts/player and the judges all vote, we have a two day break to pick the locale and line-ups for the next match, PoolB-Round1, and so-on.
Half the matches will be this Wednesday, everything regarding actual matches, prep, location, and time of the matches, will be revealed no later than Friday.
After all three pools have had a match, the teams switch up and we then do a second round for each pool. Scorers in the top-half of each pool then advance to the medal round. Any ties for advancement could be broken by a vote of players in the other two pools, or by a head-to-head tie breaker match if the vote is tied as well.
That is rather time consuming, and to avoid problems encountered in Illadelph's tourney, we'll most likely avoid that path, but should the consensus be up for it, then by all means, we'll do it.

Awesome. Thanks for picking up the ball, Red.
I haven't been on thread much lately, I've just popped on kmc a few times, pmed digi about my tourney, and had Newjak pm users about filling the spot. I typically am running this thing via MSN, but I can see things were slowing down. So it's all dandy like sour candy.
