the shadows followed her but lost her when she turned the corner

the surgen felt the loss and screamed "how can you lose her?! your shadows, damn it! find her...in the shadows!" he turned around and found himself facing Zacky face-to-face

Zacky smiled, twisting his hand around in the light so the surgen can see, a scaple with a blade the size of a hunting knife was in his hand "now...i wanna try an experiment on you humans...on how much pain you can feel before dying." he lunged the blade into the surgen's stomach, twisting it, shredding and tearing his organs to bits of pieces.

Cassie sighed and sat down. "They're gone.... Oh god thank you they'r gone." She closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around her waist, shivering from fear and the cold.

Zacky felt the surgen's body convulse and die before it hit the ground. wiping the blood off his hand and sheathing the scaple, he walked out of the door intot he cold night air "Cassie! where are you?"

No respone came to him. She was too scared to say anything.

Zacky looked around then thought "Cassie...its safe, its safe. now, where are you?" he sighed looking around not sensing her

She jumped when she heard his voice and pushed herself to her feet. She made her way to the end of the alley and waited there for him. "I'm here... You'll find me if you look."

Zacky looked around and seen her "its over...its over. he's dead." he ran torward her and pulled her close to him

She flinched, letting him pull her into his arms. She could smell the blood on his hands. "Zack... What was that? Why did he take you?" She watched the shadows, afraid that they'd come after them again.

Zacky sighed "he was a lost soul who experimanted on creatures like us...just so he can forget about the pain of being one himself." he closed his eyes tired and shaking violently "hey...i need to sit real quick...i don't feel good"

Her eyes widened and she rushed to his side, helping him to sit down. "Zack what's wrong?"

Zacky smiled weakly "its nothing...its-" he bent over and vomitted everything he had in the last few hours "ahhh that hurt..." he put a hand to his side and felt blood seeping out of a wound "so he did get me...bastard"

She frowned and kissed his cheek, putting her wrist to his lips. "Here... What happened down there Zack?" She rested her head on his shoulder and waited for him to bite into her.

Zacky looked into her eyes and shook his head "i'm fine...its a small flesh wound. and what happened down there...i was almost used as a lab rat for a mad scientist...its fine though. i killed him." he kissed her cheek after wiping his mouth

"You're so stubborn sometimes." She sighed and bit deeply into her own wrist, putting her lips to his and pushing the blood down his throat.

Zacky took the blood from her and kissed her in the process "stubborn but yet somehow atrractive" he laughed, running a hand through her hair

She shook her head and stood up. "Can you stand? How badly did he get you love?" She crouched to look at his wound, being careful not to hurt him.

Zacky slowly got up, wincing as he stretched his wound slightly "not badly...maybe a couple of inches deep. not that bad." he smiled, closing his eyes trying to forget the pain

She frowned and watched him from where she was on the ground. "Zack, will those shadow things come back for us? I dont know what they were but I think they are still alive.. And that scares me."

Zacky opened his eyes "there shadows...there everywhere. but that doesn't mean you have to be afraid of your own shadow now...they were just manipulated for different uses" he closed his eyes again and breathed slowly

She took his hand and gently guided him back to her home. She laid him down on the couch and gave him a glass of water. After locking the door, setting the sign to 'closed', and getting all the lights on, she went to tend to his wound.
