STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Home

Looking right at me so I have to kill them to get by status, right?

They haven't actually noticed you yet. Being the regular goons of Star Wars, they are talking amongst themselves about some trivial thing when the Jedi Knight comes bounding up the stairs.

Unlike the last guy, though, there is very little to hide behind, so sneaking up on them is not an option and they might feel less threatened if you are standing farther away, lightsabers being used for close combat and all.

Well I will approach them, hood up lightsbaer off.

One of them spots you.

"Keep moving and I'll shoot!" he shouts, raising his blaster. His companion jerks his head around, then snaps up his blaster as well.

"I would advise against that." Roan says as he ignights his saber.

They are not so easily cowed as the first man, Roan. They open fire! Two incoming attacks on you...

Hmm, great, now I have to remember how to fight...

Roan has a number of defenses he could pull out, if you examine his Force powers in the Archival Records and check them in the Main Rules (not the Core Rules). I will give you that; it's been some time.

Well I will use Master Reflection to reflect both shots at me.
I will dictate the +1 to hit rather than +4 to damage (By Ricochet lvl 2)

The cultists open fire! But with your specialties in laser deflection, you stand ready for them with lightsaber held out before you in a defensive guard. Not moving from your space on the floor, you intercept their shots... a 19 and a 13. The latter is a miss by 7, and so is reflected back with a skill of 8 thanks to your Ricochet bonus. The bolt strikes him in the shoulder with an Outcome of 4 on your roll, not enough to kill him but close.

But the other strikes for 7 damage, a bolt slipping past your guard and nearly hitting you. But only nearly.

Now that they have fired, it is your time to act. They are three frames distant.

Ok, well the way I see it, I may be completely wrong, but I think I can use the 3 frames to close the distance, and then be even with them, which lets player privilege go first, and then Flurry them both.

If you advance three frames, that will leave you on frame 8, with them on frame 6, acting ahead of you. Once they fire, you will have closed and you can flay them any way you like, though Flurry can only attack one target at a time.

Ah, well I screwed up.
Cool, so I'll do that. But Riposte one attack.

Riposte only works against melee attacks, even if someone is firing a gun in close quarters.

You move in, giving them the opportunity to fire again as you close. They suffer a penalty for firing the blasters are such close range, negating their burst fire bonus. This costs them their hits.

You have closed and they are within striking distance of your lightsaber...

I will use Twirl, as my lightsaber blurs, quickly striking out at the two guards.

You dash in and, in one wide swipe, cut down the two cultists with your lightsaber. This leaves the ladder unguarded and you are free to use it.

cool, up the ladder I go.

Climbing up the ladder, you return to the night air of Corellia atop the slightly-bent control tower. All the windows have been shattered, allowing a cool breeze into corpse-littered room.

The Cultists, alerted by the gunshots of their companions below, have discarded their sniper rifles in favor of blasters and are going to fire on you, while the rocket launchers are continuing their assault on the CorSec officers taking cover below.

However, you have initiative! Take action!

Cultists are three frames distant, all on the walkway outside the main control room at the top of the tower.

Roan, having noticed the cultists before they have a chance to attack, takes a breath and concentrates, feeling the force echo out around him. He is more aware, he can tap into each foe, and nearly predict their action. (Activate Ward)
He then moves fluidly towards the cultist, lightsaber loose but ready to strike or defend.
(Close 1 frame)
As the cultists move to attack him, he snaps his lightsaber up into a guard position, ready to send their bolts back at them
(Master reflection for 3 attacks)

Your concentration aids you greatly, oh Master of Reflection. The attacks you defend against roll poorly, so you flick them back with impressive skill! Three of the Cultists are blasted down by their own guns, toppling backwards off the tower and disappearing into the plumes of smoke that surround it.

You take 9 damage from the gunfire streaming into the room. But Ward helps keep it there.

The Cultists are two frames distant. The rocketeers send a volley down into the hangar, but you cannot see what they hit from where you are.
