But it's mostly eating, quite obviously. Simple science.

-AC [/QUOTE] I wouldnt say mostly. I think it depends on the person and their lifestyle as well.
I dont eat junk food. I will grab a fresh veggie or fruit over a chocolate bar in heart beat.
I just wasnt active enough to drop the weight Ive been carrying until recently.
Now, still eating the same, I walk 5 days a week for exercise and Ive dropped 18 pounds since August.
Being active equally to eating sensibly.

It's either greed, being lazy or both that cause a majority of obesity cases.

It doesn't take a genius to work that out.

Indeed. If you just need to cram something in your face, eat ice or something. Or just develop the restraint needed not to placate or medicate yourself with food.

I'm not saying that society doesn't have standards that are unfair, just that if one feels so down on themselves for something, then do something about it.

The simply science you addressed is obvious. I know some over-weight people that feel like they went through the effort to walk to the store, rather than drive, they deserve a treat or reward, so they have an icee or a donught when they get there. Well, there you go.

And let's not forget that a huge number of the food additives and preservatives, "flavor-enhancers", food dyes, the high fructose corn syrups, are 10 times harder to work off your body than are natural fats. So, buy whole foods and learn how to cook a piece of hormone-free chicken, other than deep frying it.

AC and DK are right. I have already created a thread on simple math as it relates to gaining or losing weight. If you have a thyroid problem, you will gain weight a lot faster AND you may have sleep problems.

The problem is NOT medical. Even when there is an extreme medical excuse, that still is not a good enough excuse. Do you want to know why? It is still preventable. IF you have a medical problem, then you just have to work harder and eat better. If you have a really serious medical problem and you can't afford to get medical attention, then there is no hope for you and you are very rare...but your type is not why most of America is fat so STFU and GTFO.

I think I have had this argument with someone else before....

Anyway, the problem is really just physical activity and a poor diet. Evan Centopani is an example of a person who had things working against him as far as the "fat" genetics go. When he was growing up, he had the hardest time losing weight...he was always fat. Google him and see what he looks like now. That boy works his ass off in the gym and eats very very healthy.

Fat girls give great head.

A joke can't lead to an actual conversation?

I can... theoretically.

What by your standards qualify as "overweight" ?

I notice that Hispanics, Whites, Blacks, Asians, and other races have a different idea on what is over weight and what is underweight.

Obviously, obesity is a clear concern in all races, but what one would refer to as "buff", "chunky", or "full figured", another would term "fat", "chubby", "overweight", etc.

And on the flip side, what one would term "lean", "fit", or "in shape", another group of people would term "skinny", "annorexic", "flat ass", etc.

So...is there any real truth in these terms ? Not where obesity is concerned, but where ideal body image is ?
