And The Big Bad In "Quantum Of Solace" Is ... Al Pacino?!

Hey guys.

First off, I just want to say that this news story has yet to be confirmed by an official source (although, given the nature of the news, we might not be getting any official confirmation - at least not until nearer the film's release). However, since I've seen it mentioned now on 2 (both fairly reputable) sites, I thought that I'd give you guys a heads up about it ...

Apparently, the big bad in "Quantum Of Solace" (i.e. the head of the terrorist organisation introduced in "Casino Royale"😉 is to be played by none other than Hollywood megastar Al Pacino 😱 ! Whilst Mathieu Amalric's character (Dominic Greene) will probably be the more prominant villain in the film, Pacino is apparently going to appear in a small cameo role, to be filmed in April or May.

Very, very cool news if true - but we, of course, await official confirmation ...

Has anyone heard any more about this supposed casting news? I have begun to suspect that this story might not be entirely accurate (read: a load of rubbish) ...

haven't heard of it and I doubt Pacino would get asked. I do not think they use big American names that fast... even a cameo would cost them and they need to leave a door open for that boss to get more screen time in the next movie, no?

My understanding is that "QOS" is essentially part 2 of a two-part story that was begun in "Casino Royale" - so if there *is* a big bad (besides Mathieu Amalric's character, Dominic Greene), then I'm pretty sure that he (she?) will have all the screentime they're gonna get in this film.

Still - a cool rumour (if true) ...

Martin Campbell (the director of "Casino Royale"😉 said that "QOS" would be part 2 of 2 (unless they've changed their minds, of course).

Hmmm ... given that we've heard nothing more to confirm this story, and with "QOS" now only a few weeks away, I'm guessing that this rumour about Al Pacino was just that - a rumour. Shame ...
