real women have curves

saw "real women have curves" last night with a friend. can't say I was bowled over by it. sort of like a made for tv movie that HBO decided to throw onto the big screen.

it had some good actresses and likeable characters, but came across as pretty trite.

Who is in it?

i saw a commercial. just a bunch of italian women from what i can see.

no, they're all hispanic actresses. Lupe Ontiveros is the most recognizable [and maybe only recognizable] actress.

the star is america ferrer [i think] and i believe this is her first film.

I've seen tons of commercials for it.
Theres just too much fat flying around in that movie!

I haven't seen it yet - but didn't this movie get an ovation at Cannes or one of those pretentious movie showings? I think it looks good!

Regardless of the actresses - this was a TERRIBLE movie and should have been sent straight to television. It was trite and small minded.
