Do you believe in a religion, DK?
Not one that requires money; conformity from others; preaches a doctrine of fear or reprisal; pomp and pageantry or funny hats; a pantheon of practically deified humans in a position to tell you what to think; a building or staff that takes care of it. So, basically I don't think so.

K, just so you aren't implying that Mormonism is any stranger than the rest of Christianity lol

Open your eyes and see your own hatred...and you don't have to literally hate a group of people for your beliefs, words, and actions to be hateful.
Not putting words in Digi's mouth but it seemed topical and I couldn't think of a better way to express the idea.

Neither did I make the claim that Homer's Iliad was an account of real history. In fact, I specifically referred to it as pseudo-fictional epic. My argument was simply this: One must evaluate the New Testament by the established standards of historical criticism. Serious scholars agree that Homer's Iliad was really written by Homer. Applying this same standard, we can also conclude that the Gospel of Luke (for example) was really written by Luke. Homer was writing a work of obvious fiction. Luke was writing real history and never claimed otherwise.Your dismissal of eyewitness testimony might be very comforting to you, but it wouldn't fly in a court of law. People face legal penalty every day on the testimony of eyewitnesses. And when one considers the extraordinary multiplicity of eyewitness testimony contained in the New Testament, it becomes difficult to set aside. But set it aside you will. That's what scoffers do.

OH NOES! SOS DOES OTHER RELIGIONS.
I'm not limiting christianity to those terms, you are. I'm excluding christianity because of those things, but not limiting it to them.
