How do I move threads?

I want to put a poll on a thread I made, but I don't know how. I think I have to move it, how do I do this?

You have to ask a moderator to do it for you, as you do not have access.

You can't.

I never understood that, why give us a delete box if we can't use it, it should just be set on a Mods profile.

It's hard coded into the templates and no mod permissions are checked before displaying the edit page.
