The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Brendan Fraser returns as explorer Rick O'Connell to combat the resurrected Qin Emperor (Jet Li) in an epic that races from the catacombs of ancient China up into the frigid Himalayas. Rick is joined in this all-new adventure by son Alex (newcomer Luke Ford), wife Evelyn (Maria Bello) and her brother, Jonathan (John Hannah). And this time, the O’Connells must stop a mummy awoken from a 2,000-year-old curse who threatens to plunge the world into his merciless, unending service.

Doomed by a double-crossing sorceress (Michelle Yeoh) to spend eternity in suspended animation, China's ruthless Dragon Emperor and his 10,000 warriors have lain forgotten for eons, entombed in clay as a vast, silent terracotta army. But when dashing adventurer Alex O'Connell is tricked into awakening the ruler from eternal slumber, the reckless young archaeologist must seek the help of the only people who know more than he does about taking down the undead: his parents.

As the monarch roars back to life, our heroes find his quest for world domination has only intensified over the millennia. Striding the Far East with unimaginable supernatural powers, the Emperor Mummy will rouse his legion as an unstoppable, otherworldly force...unless the O’Connells can stop him first.

Will it be a hit or a flop? Personally, I might go see it.

Oh no.... not another one of these........

I might see it just to see it, but...... I have feelings it might be a flop.

This is the new trend, clearly.

It was superhero movies, then book adaptations, now it's nostalgia movies and/or adventure movies.

National Treasure, Indy, The Mummy etc.

Luckily I found the first two movies entertaining and rather fun, so I might go see this. I think Brenden Fraser is way more suited to the role of bad ass adventurer than Cage.

I enjoyed the first 2 Mummy films quite a bit, but I have very low expectations of this one.

To be quite honest, I love the Mummy. It was chock full of SFX, adventure, and humor; the perfect popcorn flick.

The Mummy Returns, however, was not nearly as good, what, with The Rock being portrayed in all of his CGI man/scorpion persona at the end of the movie. 👇

Maybe some undead Chinese warriors, featuring Jet Li, can spruce up the franchise, yeah?

The departure or Rachel Weisz makes me automatically not like this one as much, but we'll see. Also, no Imhotep, but again, I will try to reserve judgement.

I am sad because Rachel Weisz will not be a part of this new Mummy sequel.

The first two films are my guilty pleasure. The first installment is generally a solid and enjoyable popcorn movie, and I liked the second because it had enough of the first in it for me to forget the awful Rock plot and a few of the other redundant things. A third installment set in Asia seems like walking ahead into a big cliché for me, but I'll see it nonetheless.

I have love Brandon from the start and now I'm getting excited to see him again for the upcoming mummy.

Seems interesting, but without Rachel Weisz, I'm not so not so sure at this point. Maybe after viewing the trailer I may change my mind.

I agree, she was better eye candy than the CGI.

I loved the first two mummy movies. These are the only ,Emmerich, movies that i enjoy. I think he did a great job in creating fun adventure movies with this series. I'm not sure how well the third movie will do without Imotep and Weisz's character, but i have to admit. Emmerich is good at creating characters these type of movies. I'm on the fence, but i will be seeing it.

Apparently, Emmerich has been trying to get this movie made for some time. I don't believe he is trying to cash in on any trend other than the successful reception of the first two movies. As for Universals motive. I'm sure, even though Emmerich always had the greenlight for mummy 3. He was given a larger budget because of the current interest of adventure and fantasy movies.
