this drax was killed by the blood brothers.he was a plot device hence his back being turned.
thanos has defeated drax many times before,squaring off face to face in this situation drax would lose.

Oh please...the only reason Drax did what he did was because he was cosmically empowered by Kronos. Straight up Thanos has humiliated Drax, bitchslapped him (and Hulk) aside calling them dull-witted brutes.

Onslaught (in his earliest form) is one guy who could make Thanos work...the later versions (w/Nate and Franklin) would probably be too much for him to handle.
