I don't know much about hockey, but I do know that Malkin is also one of the best players in the game along with Crosby, but Ovechkin does not have anybody close Malkin's level on his team. Therefore, your statement is void because Crosby is on the better team.

Semin is a pretty darn good player, but yeah, the whole playoff thing in sports is somewhat bullshit unless your are the reason for them being there.

But like I said before, both players are good and I think are equal. Just Ovechkin will probably get more press than Crosby on whose better just because he scores more goals.

Backstrom is on Ovechkin's line, and he's an amazing playmaker.
Also, The penguins aren't better than the Caps. That caps have absolutely astounding depth and one of the best defensemen in the league. Only thing that I think might hold them back is lack of solid goaltending.

The exact same thing can be said about the Penguins, except, the Penguins have incredible goaltending and one additional superstar 😉
The Pens had severe problems with Coaching and management. A few core players were lost that shouldn't have been lost but that is being addressed now. The depth is there. They just need to rebuild the chemistry. God damn Terrien didnt know what the hell he was doing...,shifting around lines, constantly, and even changing player positions. That was just insane. Things are changing though and the talent has still remained.
