jason stood there, frozen. his mind raced for an excuse. "um, shes a friend from the hospital. i just invited her over for pizza." he closed the cabinet quickly. "and i was just checking to make sure it was all here." his breathing slowed as he calmed down. 'bing' went the oven timer. "oh, that must be it now." he ran to the kitchen to get the pizza out of the oven.daniel stod there, still grimacing. "all right then, but make sure you get her home by 12. i'm having a cs😖ource lan party." he walked away.
Lich watched Daniel as he left the room. One would say he looked with complete and utter indifference because the manner in which he broke the silence seemed to convey just that, "do you always seem to find yourself within the company of the selfish and conceited? Or have I happened to chance upon a rare encounter?"
He still did not take his eyes off of where Daniel left until, after going to where Daniel had disappeared from, he turned to look at Jason.
This hotel room was a pittance compared to the extravagant palaces and fortresses that Lich had once inhabited. For once feelings of discomfort and disgust seem to shake from their long rest and creep within his thoughts. Even Brom never took him to his house. Lich was well aware that once Brom lost all ties to family and friends he decided to live with those whom he shared a bond with: the dead. In this sense Lich accepted his new home as Brom did, and together they got along just fine.
Lich paced around the room before coming to a window that gazed outside. He didn't bother to look out towards the city, it never changed in its form and he never changed in hating it. No, he always looked out towards the sky and his face seemed to tilt in longing for it. He pressed his hand against the glass before catching himself in its reflection, looking towards his hand, and scraping against the surface as he pulled the hand away. Aside from the marks on the window left by the fingers, the screech was simply deafening. "Sorry," Lich muttered apathetically, "I hope that wasn't of too much discomfort."
