Steph stood still, trying to take the image in and understand what was happening. She blinked and watched Lich, then her eyes fell upon her child. Her heart melted seeing the little girl sleep. She quietly moved to her daughter's side, afraid to touch the child. She bit her lip and carefully ran her hand over the baby's face. "Thank you Lich... From the bottom of my heart."
Benjii pulled himself away and stood up ready to attack "just give me back our daughter! i can care less about what danger she' in. i'll protect her, not some freak who's obsessed with babies!" he felt his anger surge through him again as he watched Lich place a hand on Steph "get your filthy self off of my fiancee'!"
Benjii fell to his knees and cried "just give her back...now! i swear i'll kill you even if you are a relative, which i highly doubt. thats probably something you tell all parents of children after you take away their baby." he got up and felt Infernus call for him, and sadly he wanted nothing more than to change

Steph blinked and forced her gaze away from the baby. "Benjii dont! Please... I can see her.. And I can touch her. She is in no harm.... Please dont make him take this gift away from me, Benjii." She looked up at him and forced a smile. "She's sleeping.. I can hear her breathing."
"You can hold her if you want. Sit on the bed, sing to her talk to her. As I said before, you may do all the things you could do as if she was here, simply be aware that she is not. The connection is real however and you should be aware that any excited withdrawals during the connection could result in lethal results to either you or the baby."

He shot a menacing look towards Benjii who he knew was trying to force his hybrid form out. You are a fool, just like your great father. he thought to himself, his mind bared away hundreds of of thousands of miles away, you really think power will save anything. Your great father thought the same thing. Hiding behind his golden throne and crown. Behind his vast army of loyal servants and soldiers. Where is your kingdom now? Where is your great father? After a few moments of glaring, Lich broke silence as he stood to speak to Benjii never letting go of Stephs hand.
"The child can hear and feel and see all the things her mother hears, sees and feels. As the mother can see the child, so can the child see as the mother. As the mother hears her child cooing, so the child hears the hatred in your voice. And as the mother feels the warmth of holding her own daughter, so the daughter feels the fear of her own father." At that moment the child scrunched her face and began to cry. Where Steph could hear the full child's wail, Benjii could faintly hear it. Still it was audible enough to differentiate between any other childs. "Perhaps the greater danger threatening my niece is not so far off as I had imagined" Lich said condemning Benjii's use of his uncontrollable hybrid form.
Steph nodded and stayed beside her child, gently picking her up and holding her close as she began to cry. "Shhh. I'm here hun... Don't cry. His name is Benjii. He's your father. He seems scary, but he has a kind heart. He's fighting for you... Don't cry my child.." She kissed the baby's head and sat back against the head board of the bed, a pillow behind her.

The child cooed tears still streaming down her cheeks. It tossed and turned a bit before catching Lich's face. With mouth ajar it looked back towards her mother where she shrieked for joy at a voice she recognized.
Benjii looked at Steph "how can you just let him have our daughter? you can't even hold her in your real arms. you have to use your mind which also means you can't phsycally touch her!" he closed his eyes, feeling his anger rise with every second she thought what she held was real and every second as Lich stood in the room

Benjii's body shook "i am no danger to my own flesh and blood. your the danger...now just give her back!" he clenched his fist, drawing blood from his palm. he felt Infernus yelling to be let out upon the world, to help bring back his daughter
Lich looked at Benjii with absolute contempt. Every single characteristic of his most hated brother was embodied before him right now. Had so much time not pass to temper his emotions, a skill from which he wish he could pass to Benjii, Benjii would not be standing there as a whole.

Steph smiled brightly as another tear fell down her cheek. Her eyes were unfocused as she interacted with the baby through her mind.
The regular Lich from back at the palace approached Steph within the image and stretched out his hands. "It is time that you must return. I must begin to search for the evil, and it is time for her to eat," a tone of humor seemed to slip through these words. "Do not worry," he assured her noticing the sadness in her eyes, "You will see her again today. But until then, rest much. You body may not feel it now, but the toll that is required for this connection is large. I absorb for the baby, but you must take your own." As he was about to take the child, he shot a thought that could only be heard between him and Steph, "Make sure the next time I arrive, he" he sneered referring to Benjii, "is not around. I will be watching."
Steph sighed softly ad set her child down before taking Lich's hand. "I'll try. But I can't make any promises. He's stubborn sometimes. I'll see Kiki to the matter of distracting him... He means well. I hope you know that." She wearily stood and took Lich's hand. "Thank you again. I'm in your dept."
Benjii turned around and growled "running away from what problems?" he felt the urge to hit her and shook his head "oh sorry i forgot, seeing me in pain is something you just love to watch." he turned a corner and smelled the stale beer of a bar. he looked at Kiki "why are you following me? what do you want?"
She shrugged and walked beside him. "It's fun.. And I'm here to beat you until you realize how wrong you were to leave your wife back there. She was happy, and you tried to stop her connecting with her child." She grabbed his coat and pulled him away from the bar. "YOU HAVE A CHILD! DONT YOU DARE GO IN THERE!"

Lich looked down, "I have a feeling it will not be easy to bend him, let alone get him to understand. I was stubborn like that once, then I realized I don't die. After that life became easier. No more anger, or rage, no more ignorance nothing. I am as you say 'perfect'. But perfection comes at a high price." He lifted the child up and held her close to his chest as she snuggled her face for a quick nap, "innocence and youth is stolen by immortality. Men wish to live forever, until they realize that it is not forever they want it is happiness. But it is always too late when they realize this."
He turned and started to walk away, the millions of colors following him and the image narrowed to Steph's eyes. Lich's voice echoed back one final word of advice, "for an immortal living comes easily. What makes it difficult is learning to live with yourself." When the words had completely faded away, Steph's vision came to and she was looking at florescent lights and white tile ceilings. Her baby was gone again and she was back in the hospital.
