Half Life: Fall of the Combine (rp thread)

The combine is at its final moments and the portal has been destroyed. but what lies under the skin of the earth is what will save us all in the end. the g man has assembled a group of strangers that his... employers, have decided will be necesary in the course of their plan. several people from different sides are to be chosen for this very important assignment. however, he has made it clear that information will not be given until the assignment has begun.

choosable character types include:
vortigaunts (engineer and strong defense)
combine soldiers (strong attack)
rebel soldiers (good defense)
hazard suit person (all around)
us army (fast attack)
gaurd (defense)
metro cop (close quarters)
combine elite (sniper)

you will be allowed to spawn random enemies to fight but only at places where they would actually have any reason to be (meaning no turrets in treasure chests.)

david woke up on a train. the train was heading for a rebel base near city 16. he waitted for a while until it stopped. he climbed off and looked up to the roof where a rebel artillery cannon was mounted. he noticed a strange man in a black suit with a buzz cut. the man watched him for a moment, then adjusted his tie and walked away. for some reason the man seamed familiar. david entered the building and greeted his friends. just as he was walking up the stairs something out side exploded....

david woke from unconciousness in the main room of the building. just behind a table was the corpse of an antlion gaurd. the train outside was damaged. the front wall of the building was completely destroyed. he drifted back into unconciousness when a medic came over to him and started talking....

david woke up again in the medical room in the basement. a man with a mounted turret was at the back door shooting into the wilderness. david sat up and realised he had a headache. a medic came over and said he had been down for 2 days. he stood and grabbed an smg. antlions had been attacking nonstop for the past few days. the lobby was overun but the upper and lower levels were safe. they had removed the elevator button for the lobby and were calling for backup. they had one boat on the river but were loading suppliews when the antlions attackedthere too and over run the place. noone had been killed but several were injured. they are currently planning on retaking the ship, finishing the loading process, and shoving off by morning. they are currently dissasembling the artillery cannon.david ran to the radio and tuned it to a city 16 rebel hideout. he spoke into the mike. "yo von, you their? and if you are, do you still have the old airboat? we could use a little help here at artillery station alpha."

Jason was patrolling his alloted course, walking down the street of an all too familiar neighborehood. He knew all of the residents, some he knew personally. No one in this area would mess with him, he was positive. But he was surprised to find one of the buildings was being wiped. Several other Combine busted through the front door, and within seconds, screams followed. A small smile cracked in side his helmet. What he didn't expect was shortly afterwards, the building exploded. He then saw civilians running across the next buildings roof. He pulled his pulse rifle out, and began picking targets. Controlling the bursts he managed to pick off several of the escaping people. As soon as no one was in his sights he rushed towards the seen of the explosion. There was gear to salvage, and if any people were still alive, he decided to dispose of them. Then he contacted the Combine HQ, and reported the disturbance.

harvey, a combine elite, ran up behind jason. he pulled out his pulse sniper rifle. "what happened here?!" he killed another escaping rebel. soon, 3 striders came down the street, blasting away at empty buildings. a building in front of jason and harvey exploded from a striders cannon. "lets get out of here!" harvey pulled jason to another combine soldier in a doorway several meters away.

Jason looked at the Combine Elite, a fine piece of the Combine military. He glanced back at the explosion, then finally said "I haven't seen this before. It seems as if the Rebels are getting braver." Jason didn't like it. He never liked the thought of something being better than the Combine. They were created for accuracy, and they kept that in mind.

harvey glared at jason with murderous intent. "you are not to speak like that, these rebels are cowardly swine is what they are. they hide waiting for our comerades to raid them, then just blow up a building. how would they even get explosives? theyre not winning, they just know a plce to get explosives!" he grabbed jason by the collar. "they are the enemy, they are weak!" he pushed jason away, turned around on his heel, and jetted out the door like an f-16. his sniper rifle thumped as he shot at rebels.

Jason had questioned himself...he did not know it would mean that much to the other Combine, although he was an Elite. Strangely, he felt sorry for the soldier. Then he remembered that they were different in another way. Jason was still a human, and still thought like one too. He at least knew that much. He hoped that the Elite wouldn't file him up in Nova Prospekt, one of the finest prisons/bases of operations that the Combine had to offer. He would hate being the one inside the cell.

Kall Senth and his Special Operations unit were grounded near the north plaza. Several shots zipped through the air. "Shit!" He pulled back the Combine Elite as the bullet tore into the wall, sending chunks of morter down on him. "Don't they let you keep any brains?!" He raised his assault rifle. "This is CSOU to control. Rebels have the north field plaza blocked off. Request assistance..." Three shots took massive craters out of the buildings wall. Sand fell down on them. "Dronson! Double back and try and get around. Take GC-445 and GC-446 with you!"

Dronson nodded and pointed to the two full Combines to follow and he quickly scarpered around and into the building.

Senth looked carefully around the corner but then quickly snapped his head back. His helmet locking onto the heat sources. "We got nine. Four in the north building, two in the plaza major and three in the bunker down the street manning the heavy."

GC-444 started to run for a flanking position.

"Cool it no-brains! We don't have superior numbers to waste!"

The Combine looked across at Kall. "SORRY SIR!" He gritted out.

Kall prepped his LSE for heat targeting and slowly moved to the corner.

A dropship flew low over the battle zone taking hits but avoiding heavy fire. "Get a squad down on that walkway NOW! Before the Rebel scum overrun both buildings!"

"Yes commander. Put down pilot."

((actually the combine dropships are half alive (living machines) that carry a large troop crate under them, thus the ironic term "it practically drives itself!"😉)

the combine dispatch's tinny voice sounded over kall's comm. "reinforcements have been sent to your position, prepare for arrival of a strider." harvey ran over to a window and mounted his gun, setting up his portable power unit. now his rifle would blow away anything the size of an ammo crate.

((it isnt a prison. when the combine captured it thewy turned it into a combination facility. so technicaaly, you would be turned into another one of the loyal mind controlled soldiers the combine makes such effective use of.)) he turned to jason "get off your a** human and use that rifle of yours." he turned to kall, "and you DON'T EVER TOUCH ME AGAIN!" he turned back and shot a ciderblock right into a rebels face, killing the rebel instantly.

ooc: Hey I found out that the metro copss are actually called Civil Protection, or CPs, and also, Nova Prospekt does have a few plain ol' holding cells...which brought me to the conclusion that it might be a prison/HQ

Jason was startled by the immediate out burst of the Elite "Yes Sir!" he said quickly, then he stood, and began picking targets again.

((yeah, it was a prison... before the combine took over it, and civil protection is the way you describe all of them. anyway, most people just call them metro cops as a nickname.))

harv took 2 bullets to the shoulder but oly shook it off before continuing. at that moment, a strider came through a highway tunnel. its pulse weapon tearing up more rebels. it fired its cannon and crouched to walk under a bridge.as rebels crossed the bridge it stood up to make them fly away. 4 rockets came streaking towards it and killed it. with a mournful resounding cry the synth fell. combine soldiers followed, picking off rebels. one rebel jumped from a windowsill with a shovel and slammed 2 soldiers to death before being shot. as he fell he threw the shovel into a third combines forehead, slicing through his mask and lodging it into the soldiers skull.

As the Elite took two bullets and fired back, the Strider that had come and blasted away several rebels was killed by 4 missles. The glided through the air and struck the Strider in its bug-like body. As it fell, Jason ran towards some of the other Combine who were under heavy fire. He took a few pop shots and managed to kill two of the rebels that were fighting back. He unleashed a ball of energy using the secondary fire on his pulse-rifle, and it struck three more rebels and incinerated them.

((oooooooooookay, you just kinda turned some of my post into half of your post except you changed rockets into missles but whatever.))

harvey watched as the metrocop ran out towards the soldiers. he pulled away hiis sniper rifle and ran upstairs with another squad. just as he turned the corner 2 rockets blew apart the wall, killing the soldiers. harvey fell back down the stairs and hit hard on the bottom. over the next couple hours he would go in and out of conciousness repeatedly. when he finally did wake up, the battle was over and he was in a room at the center of the same building. 2 soldiers and a medic stood over him.
