When he had Odin knock out Galactus, the World Eater had a speech bubble with no words in it. When Thor tore a hole in Thing's chest, it happened once again.
It might indicate surprise but I think it more likely an indication of a character being taken out or being seriously rocked (Rendered speechless or whatever).
Imo, Nul was temporarily knocked out or stunned to the point he might as well be.
