What indicates that he thinks his words are facts?
He would at times say stuff like "I just know what a good fighting game engine is and this ain't it" or something like that. Sometimes I wonder if he even played the game he's reviewing (like the World Heroes games). He even still thinks Brocken is a rip-off of Bison.😐

Almost everything in his reviews are opinions.
Something he usually doesn't wanna admit.

Seriously, don't get so worked up over a single person's review. Basically, he was one of the people who didn't like the game.
I'm just sick and tired how people like him always underrate MK and it's also ridiculous how he rely on phony reviews through emails to determine whether he buys a game or not. The guy is truly bias, no matter how much he denies.
Well to be fair, all reviews are biased to some extent. 😬
And I'm honestly not surprised that this game got bad reviews like that, since it's got Dark Khan, characters getting erased from existence, and other terrible cliches, as well as lametalities, toned down violence, a so-so roster, silly character endings that look like something you would see out of a fan-fiction, etc.
Granted, I'll still play this game some after Christmas, but it's just not up to snuff.

I honestly don't see those as good reasons for bad reviews but I guess that's just how you think.

He doesn't have to start every sentence with:
-"In my opinion..."
-"To me..."
-"I don't know about you, but I..."
...just to let us know that he's stating his opinions. It's a personal video game review, so the majority of the stuff that he's saying is an opinion.

Exactly, because they're filled with opinions and expectations the reviewer had for the game.

He doesn't have to say it in every sentence but he does have to make it apparent somewhere and this is about a guy who thinks alot of things he say is right. When it comes to a person like that, they have to make it clear somewhere that it is their opinion or else, people may look at it differently.

You do realize that there a bunch of people rely on reviews when buying a game, right? Those are the kind of people who don't want to waste their money on a game that might not be good. The guy already admitted that he wasn't much of a fan of the DC comics, so there's nothing wrong with him reading other people's reviews before making his decision of not buying MK vs DC.
But the thing is, it depends on what kind of reviews they rely on. Anybody can write a review about a game and state something wrong about it without explaining why. That's basically what the reviewer did. Not only that but he didn't really seem to take it seriously enough. He also stated many problems that not many other people have (such as sidestepping, voice acting etc.) You gotta really make sure that if you are gonna rely on someone else instead of experiencing it on your own, you better make sure that that person is reliable and you gotta look at what other people say too.
And I don't think all reviews are bias. There are some that are at least fair for the most part but still, just relying solely on reviews shouldn't be enough to judge a game.

Regardless of what the person does or doesn't say, it's still a review that's filled with opinions and expectations.

I'm pretty sure that he payed attention to reviews from his friends and other credible sources. I truly doubt that he would trust the reviews of some of the random people who emailed him unless there was a common complaint/compliment in them.

I'm sure that he played the game because it would be pretty stupid to make a review of the game without playing it. Video games are expensive nowadays, so people want to make sure that they aren't wasting their money on a game they might not like.
Okay. Just got back from testing out my favorite characters in training mode (of course, still have to unlock Darkseid and Shao Kahn by beating that lame Dark Khan or whatever).
Lex Luthor's regular moves/combos are a lot stronger than I thought they'd be. They're like, super strong. Joker has a lot of wacky special moves, as expected. Superman's heat vision is nerfed as expected, but his other moves are still pretty good. His freeze breath renders Sub-zero obsolete.
Deathstroke definitely didn't disappoint. I like him even more (as a character), having used him now. His sword fighting style is pretty sweet, as are his other moves.
I was disapointed quite early on after getting to the menu and realising that there is no epic cut scene like the other MK games. I ignored this considering the way they layed out story mode as it's pretty much one big cut scene with fight's added quite nicely during the unfolding story. The characters have a nice amount of special moves and you are more free to create your own combos than other MK games. The plot is a little predictable although still enertaining.
With an interesting story mode fans of MK and DC comics will probably enjoy this game but any one else may find it a bit boring. Online play is always a good thing for a fighting game and there is a surprising lack of lag problems.
Just a late opinion of the game as I got it for christmas.

Still disappointed with the toned down violence/fatalities, the lack of a new/original boss, and the lack of Cage and Onaga (and I still think Deception and MK2 are better 😛), but still a pretty decent game overall.

I disagree. I think Batman and Joker's were right on the spot. Not saying the others were bad but those two were definitely the best in my opinion.
But aside from that, I especially liked Shang Tsung's voice. Although it's different from any of the voices he's had before, it seems a lot more.. true to his character, than say, the voice he had during that brief scene in Armageddon's Konquest mode (where the forces of darkness meet).
