People in DC are stupid. Clark just changes clothes, puts a cape on, and changes his hair style and suddenly nobody knows who he is. Here's an idea, Batman doesnt have to fight crime with his mask on, he can just change his hair and nobody will know it's him and the same goes for Flash. DC is so retarded.

Marvel's more entertaining than DC. The game should have been called Mortal Kombat vs. Marvel. That'll have more sellings.

Clark also changes his height and his face slightly. In addition, because he does show his face to the public (unlike most superheroes), people simply assume that he has no secret identity.
And as for the "not killing" part. Well put yourself in their shoes. You're recognized as a hero and someone who people can depend on and is a good influence. The image of seeing you killing someone can truly damage your reputation and can possibly send out the wrong message. As a well recognized hero, you can't let that happen to you as you might loose their trust too and see you as a possible danger to them too just like the villains (which is something they surely don't want). Plus, it could mess up your mind in a way some people don't want.
That's just what I think. I get what you people say but that could be the reason too.

You'd think that Lois ****ing Lane of all people would at least notice the difference, what with like dating and sleeping around with the guy and stuff.

there's pages and pages of stuff talking about why it does work.
first of all, anyone with superspeed at a high enough level can vibrate their bodies to the extent that they can be invisible or intangible. superman's face looking different isn't that big a deal.
second, the lois thing.
people assume that because superman is so open and trustworthy, and is damn near godlike, that he'd never have any need to hide among humans. they see him as a true hero, so they don't even consider that he could be someone as unassuming and, well, clumsy, as clark kent.
superman works hard to maintain his identity, people would know that if they'd read the damn comics.

And it ain't like Joker is Batman's only mistake. You wanna know who else Batman should have killed? Alexander Luthor Jr., the Luthor from Earth 3. Unlike Joker, Luthor had the potential to kill far more than a single city which with Joker's basic resources is the best he could do, Luthor was not only a genius, but he had Cosmic power to help his plans. He was going to destroy the entire universe if not stopped. But no, let him live. 🙄
Ironically, DC lucked the fvck out, Joker at the end of Infinite Crisis did what Batman should have done and killed Alex.
