depends on the musical...wouldn't say it was true in the case of "dancer in the dark" which is probably my favourite musical ever

Ugh, Dancer in the Dark is amazing. New World is fabulous, not in the film but the end credits though.

Rocky Horror Picture Show is my all-time favorite musical. Figure it out.
