They're not just going to cancel two of their most acclaimed books they have right now, which are selling quite well iirc.
Joe Q has made no secret he doesnt like the cosmic side of the universe as well.
Captain Britain MI13 was regulary touted as a awesome comic, but they didnt think twice about cancelling that.

so, thoughts on the new series? and, has anyone else read the gotg INFINITE digital series? i think it was very cool..... i'm impressed (like at the start of annihilation) with the technology. it worked for me. and i actually think bendis did a nice job with the individual stories.....
It's interesting. I have no idea what's going to happen. And so far, I'm not bored with it at all. My favorite recent GotG run was the Annihilation: Conquest tie-in series. Just really nailed a soldier-of-fortune/behind enemy lines/commando style squad dynamic where anybody could die at any moment (and did).
The cast feels too safe right now, but seems like Drax and Gamora are in for some character development/changes.
Bendis' take on the 'galactic council' stuff annoys me, as it seems to ignore any continuity or previous stories.
Annihilus acting as part of a council? The gods being consulted? And then stuff like the Badoon/Spartax being treated as equals by the SI etc, it all just grinds on me a bit as it seems to ignore so much stuff (including the dozens of other races on an equal level with Sportoi etc)
It just all seems a bit simplistic the way it's currently shown. That being said the art is solid and it's still a fun read, and I'm really intrigued to see what Gaiman brings to the series
i actually like the departure from the old gotg continuity/ideas. the series has failed in the past--multiple times. a new direction was warranted. so, like i said, i'm enjoying it quite a bit. more on quill and his father will come to light i'm sure. i do find drax a bit stale. i hope he DOES develop. that is one character that can't seem to find a consistent voice. gamora could use some changing too imo, and i really like tony's addition to the team. his new origin story fits well with his shift to space-faring hero. at least for now it works for me.
