Looks interesting. I'll definitely check this out, especially since Dylan Baker is portraying a psycho. I like his acting style.

Has a release date even been set yet?

I've heard a couple rumors. I heard it was supposed to be out today. Then I heard it was just going straight to DVD.

I looked it up on Wikipedia and it says it got pushed back to an undetermined 2009 date.

Warner Home Video is starting a new "buy 5, get 1 free" Blu-ray program for 2009, included in the participating titles list is Michael Dougherty's hotly anticipated TRICK 'R TREAT! It looks like we'll finally be getting this long delayed title this year! The film features four interwoven stories that occur on Halloween: An everyday high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer; a college virgin might have just met the one guy for her; a group of teenagers pull a mean prank; and a woman who loathes the night has to contend with her holiday-obsessed husband.

Thanks MP. Can't wait

Finally have an official date when we can see it, yay.

Here's what writer/director Michael Dougherty revealed about his much-anticipated fright film TRICK ’R TREAT which will finally be seeing DVD and Blu-ray release in October, following festival bookings this summer/fall. “They’ll be out just in time for Halloween,” Dougherty tells us of the Warner Home Video releases. “There will be a standard-edition DVD which will pretty much just have the movie, and then the Blu-ray disc will have all the special features, ’cause that’s the way things are moving these days. There will be a documentary, the animated short film, SEASON’S GREETINGS, that kind of inspired the feature, deleted scenes, outtakes, all sorts of fun. And there will be a few different audio commentaries that are still in the works; I don’t know exactly who’ll be on them yet, but definitely me and hopefully some of the cast.”

That looks excellent.

that sucks. I wanted to see it in the theater oh well.

It's showing here in Britain at the Fright Festival in London, if you are near, see if you can get a ticket?

Hey Mild, how are your bootlegging skillz?

I'm not going this year. 🙁

dammit

hows come?

I'm very busy with the house/moving during the end of summer. 😛

Definitely a fun movie. The anthology series is a throwback to the horror movies of the 80s. You can tell it got its inspiration from movies like Creepshow, Tales from the Darkside, and the Tales from the Crypt series. All of those old halloween stories that you told each other are here
You have

Spoiler:

The Ghost story
The story of what happens to bad kids on Halloween
What happens to adults not in the spirit of the season
Your monster story

[/B][/QUOTE] All in all I would give it an 8. If you liked the tales from the crypt series you will like this movie.

Oo lovely, the dvd is getting a release here in the UK on the 26th of October, so if I pre-order it, should get it in time to watch on Halloween. Such a perfect film to watch on the night, because quite frankly we are complete rubbish here in Britain for Horror films on Halloween night.

Or I could order from America but it costs more, it's getting a £7 new release price here most places. But you are getting the film a whole 10 days before us on DVD... humm, what to do!!

Just got this...its pretty good.

This was a great movie. Not to much i can say about it. I don't know if was worth a 3 year wait but im sure it will be considered a classic. It really does feel like a throw back to older ghost stories. The one thing that i can say about the movie is that i appreciated the writing and directing. The Director never tried to make the movie more than it is...,an entertaining compilation of ghost stories. The movie wasn't scared to show you the face of the devil. Everything is as it should be in this movie. It doesn't set you up by forcing you to expect something and then trick you by revealing something different. That's one thing i hate about a lot of modern horror movies. They always try to be something more, they seem to yearn to have an underlying message and they attempt to achieve this by having some forced intellectual ending. What happened to simply scaring and entertaining? Well, Trick r' Treat is one that doesn't want to do anything more than scare you and entertain you while throwing in quite a bit of laughs along the way.

Watched it again, this movie is really cleverly done on how all the stories tie in to each other. The music and the tone is perfect also.

I downloaded this on my PS3 last night.

This is a VERY fun movie. I give it a solid 9.
