Picard's chief thing against him is that he never beamed Wesley Crusher into deepspace for his constant petulant whining and b!tching.

TNG felt all a bit to righteous to me, too politically correct.

So were the other series.

But TNG was better with it.

The galaxy had changed in the 70 odd years between TOS and TNG.
We had evolved to being better people by then... Kirks time was more of a time of war also. TNG was back tot he explorers in space concept after the more militarized feel of the Federation in the movies set in Kirk's time.

I know all that, but Kirk's impulsive attitude that went against the grain often... I liked that bit.

That was Worf all over.

Picard broke a lotta rules by the time that series was done.

I loved Kirk as Captain too, but it doesn't mean that Picard was gonna have to be hated..

I don't hate him... I like Stewart, great actor.

It just didn't quite grab me. I'm a Star Wars dude... well, OT star Wars dude. hehehe

Took me a few years to come to grips with the fact that the PT is sort of the handicapped brother of the SW saga... I think they're still in denial.

But are the handicapped THAT BAD?

But there are still people taht believe the PT is much better than the OT... I still cannot believe that.

Even the last Volkswagen commercial shows the OT iconography is still present in popular culture. The PT has left nothing.

Yes. I think that its the universes need for difference.
They like that shit so we dont have to.
These people forsake taste in favour of mass consumed tripe...
Sacrifice discernment for automatic acceptance of pap...
They give up their credibility as good judges of output in favour of mob silence to save involvement in criticism.
