Cool.... a bit like filming Bad Taste then.

Indeed! Aren't I lucky? I got a chunky bit.

Good for you.

I met one of the guys who played some of the supporting roles. He's a communications manager at Ahold...

Oh dude that is awesome.

That movie Ive not seen since the early 90s.

But I still remember so much of it...used to watch it all the time.

It's a bit weird.

A friend of mine is a big fan. he made me watch everytime I came over.

Everytime you came over? lol

THATS the weird bit. lolz 😂

Well, a couple of times. I'm exaggerating of course. 😉

Ah. Well thats more understandable...
Did you see the whole movie the 1st time?
Or was the second time a 'completion' screening?

I thought Legacy was well worth the seeing.
Was amazed by the whole 80s Jeff bridges being in it...

This and Terminator salvation set a cool new precedent for retconning, flashbacking, timetravely stuff....

Maybe Star Wars VII will finally be possible.....

I too enjoyed Legacy far from boring for me unlike some other films i've tried to watch

Hope the the animated series is handled well otherwise it will be Clone Wars all over again

But is it possible for Lucas to accomplish it.

Please no...

Tron legacy looked amazing, let me say that, I loved the look. Bridges was good. Didn't like the CGI Bridges very much. It kinda worked as Clu since he was artifical (although the other programmes looked very human) but it was okay.

I was just bothered by the extremely flimsy story. For the time length they could have given us a bit more drama. Why the heck didn't they go for bringing back Tron for instance. That would have been nice.

And the 3D was not great in the sense that they hardly used it. It was filmed very non 3D. So you watched it with glasses but it didnt look very 3D. And I do think I had a good viewing wtching it in 3D IMAX.

What about the programs which clothed the dude etc
That chick with the eyes etc.... Definitely some extrahuman/programish qualities.

Clu was written in early on in that version of the grid.
That might explain why he looked ever so slightly "CGI-ish" compared to the conventional looking later ones.

I saw it 2D. Really enjoyed it....hardly anything that was obviously 3D gimmick based.

Whilst I still recommend renting Pirhana, It has some horrifically lame 3D sequences that are the worst of their kind since Jaws 3.
(And just as dubiously executed too)

Legacy didn't have much of a 3D look anyway, so I don't know why they bothered to make it 3D. Your viewing experience was therefor similar to mine... well, apart from the IMAX bit. ;-)

Didn't the flimsy story bother you then? Or at least the absence of Tron as a character?

Near absence, really.
Tron was in it, just not lots.
The title of the movie hints that its not about Tron, but the repercussions of his actions. At least they kept it Bridges centric..

Yeah its was like they were setting up for sequels, like TPM wasnt amazingly plot driven, it was just the setting of stages, the gathering of irritating characters etc

Also the guy who directed Tron Legacy is planning on remaking 'The Black Hole'

don't remember much of the original one.

I loved the original...they'd better keep that John Barry score...!!!
And Vincent and Old Bob, the Cygnus droids and Maximilian are some classic shit that they'd better not alter too much lest they rob it of its character Bay style....!!!!!

Its a vastly underatedly fun scifi romp that has been done thematically since by quite a few imitators since, and its individual idiosyncrasies were the bricks that made it's wall.

YouTube video

the robots would look fantastic nowdays with what they can do

Thats what I thought before this happened:

😂

ANd I know Tron was in it... well, a suit called Tron was in it. That's what I call absence: the physical presence was there, not the character.

And yet there seemed to be plenty of justification to bring Tron back. You'd say Flint owed him that.

Whos Flint? 😛

Tron can still be back in the next one. Hes just a program.
Clu was killed in the 1st movie, yet new Grid, and the program got reused. You could probably see where thats going to go sequel wise.

Bruce Boxlietner being in this one extensively as Alan might be a hint also, that there may be more Troncentricity in any following movie.
They've certainly done the world/Flynn story exposition now, theres room for it.... especially as Alan now pretty much runs the company.
