You may be onto something there....
10 - He isn't what you expect him to be.
Jesus shatters all expectations of what the Messiah is "supposed" to do. He doesn't come in all his power and majesty, but as a poor baby in a barn.
GL: Born in a part of Modesto, springing forth as an excellent message spreader of the film medium, we expected him to produce gold all along, (his earlier works were good, but he churns out CG evil.
9 - He is the source of all that is good.
Not us. This means we owe him everything. He only asks for a small part of that back. A small part of our time, money, gifts, etc.
GL: This is how George see it too. 😛
8 - Jesus won't ever force himself on us.
This means faith must be exercised in order to follow him. Prayer is the key.
GL: Just as we are told to believe or burn in hell condemned, either buy every subsequent release of SW and Red Tails forever or burn in "Youre no fan" hell or be considered a racist.
Whilst Lucas never officially forces himself on the public, you will burn in the hell of not knowing what happened in the next installment if you do not watch. And GL fans are very quick to destroy those who speak out against the main man.
7 - He speaks with authority.
His words are truth and can change you. If we let them.
GL As above. Accept against all common sense that CG gophers DO pull up to mock people, especially heros in gritty situations, and that already evident emotional climaxes must be punctuated with "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".
6 - We can't have it all.
Jesus said to follow him and to leave the rest behind. There is freedom in being detached from worldly things, power, and glory.
GL: So no original versions of SW in 1080p then. 🙁
5 - To follow Jesus means we must do as he commanded.
We can't just pick-and-choose whatever moral code we want.
This means that your VHS versions, original 1978 SW pyjamas, and your collection of figures, vehicles etc etc all mean nothing in terms of being a fan, if you do not automatically buy each new release on faith alone and if you do not love it.
Greedo shots first, basically.
4 - The cross is mandatory for a Christian.
We have to pick it up, daily, and follow him.
GL: The burden of hearing phrases begin in SW with "Meesa" regularly due to star wars explain this one.
3 - We must share our faith with others, clothe the naked, feed the sick, etc.
These are not optional. They are where the Gospel is put into action.
GL: Marketing strategy: Buy LFL's stuff..Spread the word (In positive terms only, please!!! Here...this cash will alleviate your concience.
Even if we do not believe on a rational level anything that happened in the prequels, we must buy buy buy and tell others to.
Yet we will always claim that SW made it on it's own virtue.
Both sides like to "Get em when they are young".
2 - He claimed to be God.
The Incarnation, life of Jesus, death, Resurrection, etc. is either the biggest lie sold to humanity or the greatest thing to ever happen.
GL - Acts unilaterally as the creator of SW. Any new additions/subtractions from SW are to be credited to him. But The bad stuff is always someone else's fault. His fans will be arguing til the end of time due to his changing and inconsistant ways.
1 - Jesus life and words demand we choose.
He is either Lord and Savior of your life or not. There is no middle ground. But, the choice is always your own. Choose wisely, because we can't take the final test over again.
GL: Loved, Hated... Revered for his works and slated for other lazier efforts....Believe his logical inconsistances or dont.
When you finally die, you will have either filled your time with quality movies like Empire or you will have spent your time on The Phantom Menace, Indy IV, Red Tails.
