Yep theres one coming

The pop culture juggernaught of Witchblade, currently on release as a gloriously action packed anime from MADMAN, has just been announced as in production for a feature film.

Topcow Studios, publishers of the original comic featuring the scantily clad wielders of the Witchblade, will bring the action fantasy to film, with production starting in September 2008, anticipated to be shot on location here in Australia

Not too sure about about how they will handle it considering the other movies they've done with other female superhero turned out bad movies bad (Elektra, Aeon Flux)

Make it an S&M porno flick.

Hopefully, they will get the film right, because the tv show was utter crap and poorly acted. I have a few choices for the role, but I'll wait and see when casting choices are announced.

Newsarama talked to Top Cow's Matt Hawkins, who gave an update on the Witchblade movie. Here's an excerpt:

The best laid plans of mice and men! I could sit back and blame everything on the economy and it would of course be believable...but not true. We simply do not yet have a script yet that we all like. We had a window to go into production that has clearly passed but the project is very much alive and kicking. I don't think I'll lay out any dates at this point given the delays but we’re in the process of working with a new writer

As a fan of the comic book, I am hoping for a decent film and lots of action
