The odd number curse. (That was broken with Nemesis' release)
2, 4, 6, 8, were awesome.
2 and 6 especially.
1..slow..more like an extended episode of the original..better in directors cut as avaliable now.
3. Yeah mediocre.
5. WTF. Whislt often misunderstood it had many silly things that contradicted the known ST tech/universe.
7. Generations was where it stated to reek of danger.
9. Insurrection. Totally mediocre. Could have been a TNG filler episode and Data got on all our t!ts.
10. Not an odd number, but it was the 1st even numbered movie to be, in fact, shit.
11. New star trek. Pretty good. and more proof that the curse has if not ended, reversed.
Thats right. VH is number IV.
I loved Undiscovered country. It was flawed a little, but I found it very enjoyable. Well written, well cast, plotted, acted and I though directed. So did Lucas too, I think, as ILM's Praxis moon explosion effect made it into the deathstar explosions in the special editions and all subsequent versions although its a minor technical point..
Well they studied BattleStar Galactica and other stuff too.
The Hoth thing came about after Dykstra and co sussed out how to matte over bright snow with minimised lines, and GL was already pissed at them for doing lots of SWesque effects for Larson's series, so I guess he ripped off the episode "Gun on Ice Planet Zero" in retaliation.
Not really. Most are generic formulaic, hackish, cookie cutter shite that doesn't challenge dramtically, conceptually, creatively, intellectually in any way. "But hey the actors are modelish and trendy! Hey lets masturbate ourselves to death over their banal shiny sterility afely, as we dont want anything that might affect our advertising sales!!!" seems to be the edict of many networks.
