Why is Father’s Day mostly ignored?

Why is Father’s Day mostly ignored?

I don’t know anybody that takes this 'special occasion' seriously. Most years i don’t even call my Dad on June 15th ...

A good father and son combo shouldn't need a ceremony to acknowledge their bond - no cake or ice cream is required and no gift cards are ever exchanged in my family. Possibly some power tools are returned, but that's about it...

What are you doing on June 15th?

Because fathers don't push something the size of a watermelon out of a hole the size of a cherry tomato (Haha, get it? Cherry.).

Almost any woman can do that. It doesn't mean they deserve the title of 'mother' or a day in their honor, and by tantamount, worthless 'fathers' deserve no praise or honor.

Parents should be honored, beit by an annual day or whenever, based upon their performance. Respect is not automatic. It's earned.

well said

As of now, I'm just getting my dad a "Happy Father's Day" card and put money in it.

I might get one more thing for him, though.

Pfft.

2 words...The Belt

We take our dad out for dinner on Fathers Day and sometimes buy him presents but this year as his present he's asked for "no mention of fathers day" 😂

But we're still taking him out for dinner whether he likes it or not ermhappy

I get it, but Father's Day has never been ignored in my family

Same,

we celebrate fathers day equally to mothers day.
