When you say you're a 32, are you referring to your waist?

Pant size I wear, which I assume is also my waist.

I thought that was already established, but that was... weirdly insightful.

I'm curious as to whether Bardock is actually Dita von Teese, or if he's just being... Bardock.

Just being Bardock.

The Daily Mail still fears for your health regardless.

As far as I can tell, they're not making you, just educating you n how to be healthier.

Just curious, how many here wouldn't make Japan's cut?

I'm a 32.

Im a 32, and according to the BMI chart (http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/) have a BMI reading of: 18.5

Meaning, in the Western World, I'm literally on the line between underweight and normal weight, and in Japan, I'm a pant size away from being obese...

You read a frightening amount of Daily Mail.

http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/public/heart/obesity/lose_wt/bmi_dis.htm

table comparing BMI to waist size and comparing it with risk of disease associated with obesity.

For us Westerners, a man with a waist less than 40inches needs a BMI over 25.0 to be at increased risk for disease

I feel that neither BMI nor waist size are a particularly good measure of how overweight or underweight and in particular how healthy someone is.

overweight/underweight maybe, as that seems statistical or at least moderatly empirical

health? no. Fat people can be extremely healthy

The Daily Mail agrees wholeheartedly.

I'm 25.2, so according to the BMI, I'm overweight. Odd thing is, I can see my abs and nothing jiggles. I wouldn't put much stock in the BMI, it doesn't factor in muscle/fat mass.

Edit: Or see Xmark's post above.

I think it is mostly because only taking height and weight into account just doesn't say everything about a body that needs to be said. I guess if you define over and underweight by BMIs though that at least makes some sense.

Can you also find an article on the Daily Mail that disagrees with me?

There should be a cull of Daily Mail readers, writers and editors.

I'm not telling you to. I don't put too much stock in the Japanese guidelines either.

The big joke of it was that I am both underweight and obese depending on which country I'm in

Ya, I'm not trying to make any overarching claims about what the BMI is capable of. Clearly individual differences will outweight any type of generalization when it comes to humans.

I'm afraid the Daily Mail still agrees wholeheartedly on this issue.

But do you think Kate Moss should be allowed to recycle Victoria Beckham's old outfits without ridicule? Because if you do they think you suck.

Oh thank god, I fully think she should.

A horrible government intrusion, but if the Japanese have no problem with it, then let them do whatever they want.

I'm a 32, and I'm in the military, so I get weighed all the time to make sure I'm in standards. But when I get out, if I want to be 250 lbs with a 44" waist, then leave me alone.
