Darkseid had every reason to avenge his loss to Superman. He was humiliated by Superman and lost his omega powers. There is a lot of pride in Darkseid and he literally got wrekced. He was on his knees and left meaning he lost the fight as he left and didnt want none.
The difference wit the Orion fight is that Darkseid blasted him once an dtold him he needed him. The fight was nowhere near over and if you knew a thing about Darkseid and Orion youd know Orion had a lot more to give. They have fought for weeks. If Darkseid hadnt explained the situation that fight would have very well been on. That doesnt count as a victory at all. He blasted him once. Thats all. The he explained he needed his help to defeat Sivva.
Any ration being(not you apparently would have helped Darkseid at this point because he was a bigger threat) than continue to fight Darkseid when they all needed to band together.
