How would Superheroes vote?

An important election is coming up in the US this fall. It matters even to those of us who don't live there. So it occured to me - how would many different comic characters vote?
Since Civil War two years ago, we got to see who has liberal & conservative leanings; some of them surprised me. Where would the voting go between two parties?

I have to say, I can't figure out many DC characters. Is Superman a liberal or a conservative? How different is Batman from him, if at all?

Voting is irrelevant, the powers that be decide who the figureheads will be before they even become candidates.

CaptainAmerica -- Democrat

Superman -- upbringing suggests Republican but actions suggest Democrat

Batman -- Illuminati

Ironman -- Republican

Superman may be a "Small C" Conservative. That mid-western upbringing, and how he trusts the government.

Batman may be a super control freak- but he doesn't trust authority. He could be a liberal.

You're right, SC. It's easy to figure GA as a libertarian socialist, bordering on anarchist. He'd vote for Ralph Nader, dammit.

Wasn't this the trouble when we tried to envision Civil War at DC - who would take the opposing view on registration? It seemed too many of them who simply say "Yes" & line up. Green Arrow is the main one who'd tell the government "Hell No to registration."

most superheroes wouldn't be allowed to vote, technically. they're the same entity as their "secret identity," and with no idea which superhero is which civilian it would be impossible to prevent them from voting twice. superheroes could probably give informal endorsements, but superman couldn't walk into the voting booth. i mean, he could, but his vote would likely be rejected for potential voter fraud.

Unless you have multiple secret identities, you only get to vote once, unless you want to risk voter fraud - and what kind of hero does that?

All this technicality stuff is irrelevant. The point of the thread is to see the political leanings of different comic characters.

Well, not really.

One can be a liberal and not be an anarchist. Just because, say... Ragman respects the government and wouldn't defy the law doesn't mean he wouldn't vote Nader.

Basically, what side they'd line up on politically doesn't necessarily dictate how they'd respond to something like the SHRA.

Anyways, I'm kind of excited about the idea. Winick is very hit or miss, but when he hits, he's fantastic: Barry Ween, anyone? And ole' Fables Bill, when he's on, he's ON, and that's usually.

I'm kind of excited about this series.

As long as we get Swamp Thing endorsing the Green Party.

By the way, Hal Jordan? Huge freakin' neoconservative. He flies around wearing a weapon of mass destruction on his finger and he is convinced he has the power to accomplish anything as long as he has the willpower to do it.

Hmm I would say Superman is generally Moderate but if he had to vote he would probably vote Republican.

Batman would probably vote third party somewhere.

Green Arrow is definitely Democrat.

Hal Jordan is a definite Republican.

So I guess if the DC Civil War did happen, it would be Wonder Woman leading the Anti-Reg side, being the feminist socialist she is.

Not doubt Hal Jordan & Captain Atom would fight over who gets to lead the Pro-Reg side, and bring the commie showgirl wannabe to justice. 😄

And Superman would ask "Can't we all just get along?" and leave the country like Ben Grimm, so he wouldn't be pressured into taking sides.
