Aye, but the OTF has the "rate my rack" thread! lol

Yeah, you have a point. I don't know anyone personally who'd do it, but you never know on this forum.

Yup, that's true. Some people take the internetz too seriously. Hell, some people take real life too seriously.

haha...so polite.

Alright, I'm not proud of it, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I hate the idea of 'fitting in', it's just a synonym for a conformist, pretty much.

😆 😆

Here's another cultural reference a la RJ. I'm just breakin' your ballz, man.

Also, I actually agree with you. Why conform to the cookie cutter personalities and actions? That's too boring.

I haven't noticed. He seems the same. hmm

Great site, used to watch those videos compulsively.

True hmm

I try not to take anything too seriously, but I always end up doing it. Not proud of that much.

RJ claims to hate conformity, but he does actually conform. he conforms to his own rules, which he does to try and avoid people calling him a conformist. And if you dare oppose that, in his eyes, you're a conformist too. That's another reason I dislike him. I was going to relate 'Conformism' to Christianity, but I believe you are also Christian, so I won't in case it offends you.

Like I said, he hasn't changed. My view of him and his behaviour has.

That's a logical fallacy if his rules are not those of the conformists. If they are not here's an explanation.

I conform to my own rules, despite being very different from most people. Even if one does not consciously admit to having a personal set of rules that dictate social governance, those rules are still there in the subconscious. Even if someone tries their hardest to be unpredictable so that not even "non-conformist" can be assigned, they are still adhering to a rule of irregularity.

Most people don't want to be called a conformist. That's usually an insult. Everyone was told that they are a unique little snowflake when they were children. 😄

It would seem that everyone is jumping on the "hate on RJ" bandwagon. That's the origin of his sentiment.

I appreciate the forethought, but it isn't necessary to pad your words. Let it out, full force, and stop confirming to social norms, you conformist. 😛 GOTCHA!

lol

Okay, really, though, I have a general disdain for religion. If you wanted to point out that Christian's have a close minded group mentality, I would agree.

I see what you mean there. hmm I more meant, he won't ever admit maybe he's wrong, since the 'rules' he's invented are fact to him. But the rest of what you said is true.

I try not to use 'conformist' as a general insult, since that way it goes thrown around too much. I think everyone in some way has to be a conformist, in fact any animal, really. I would explain that, but I think you understand what I mean.

The "hate on RJ" bandwagon doesn't exist, in my opinion. I think it's just a coincidence that a lot of people likeminded to me have gotten tired of his antics and comments, really. srug

So you aren't Christian? I had some idea you were, sorry about that. Not sure where I got that from. I see what you mean about that conformist thing, that is very smart haermm I haven't got anything to say against that.

He has admitted fault, though, in the past. I'm not sure if this particular subject is something he would apologize for because he fully intends to be immature and obnoxious. In that sense, he doesn't admit fault. You have assigned that state as "fault" and he admits to that state, but it is neither fault nor correct. It is simply two opinions of his actions. I personally don't see it as his fault because he is fully aware of what he is doing before he does it. He's admitted that quite readily. Therefore, the only wrong he is doing is the wrong in the eye of the beholder. It's possible that he will admit fault in the future, but it doesn't mean he was objectively at fault, it simply means his line of reasoning has conformed to yours or others.

I believe they call that using a cliche to death. That happens all too often.

True dat, but we are now going beyond psychology and delving into the world of chemistry and genetics.

RJ believes it does exist, ergo his comments that came into question. I personally think it's impossible to avoid being influenced on your opinion of someone when your are exposed to a negative perspective. It instills doubt (on some level, even if subconscious) or strengthens your resolution...even if the two previous individually result in an opposing dichotomy of the perspective in question.

I am. I'm just a cynical grouch, sometimes. Religion is the tool of conformists. Religion is control. Religion is the fault of subjective thinking. Religion is the opiate of the people. It is constantly the "satisfier" at the detriment of free-thinking.

Remove jihad suicides and what is left? Simple. Revenge and murder.

Remove the Christian stance on gay marriage and what is left? Oppression.

Etc.

Indeed. There are philosophical "traps" in most discussions. It can get annoying after a while. That's why I approached it like a smart ass...to avoid unnecessary offense.
