STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Learner

"Considering what it turned out he was doing, I cannot say I blame anyone for being wary right now," Rianna replies, shuddering a bit. Even though Roch is dead she still can't help but feel fear and disgust at what he had done. "Though I'll admit I wish my suspicions of him had ended up being unfounded..."

She winces a bit as Luminara unwraps the bandages, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable. "If Myraline's been unconscious, though, then that means no one's been able to tell what happened..."

"Jarko informed us that you went to apprehend Roch," Luminara says. "We did not receive the specifics of the fight after you went up to face him. Jarko experienced severe structural damage to his cybernetics and was too slow to join you. Are you the one that ended Roch's life?"

"I was...I didn't really have much choice. He was determined to kill me, it seems. He even forced Myraline to try and kill me..." Rianna replies, fidgeting a bit.

"I see," Luminara says, concerned. "Then it is well that you stopped him. He posed a serious threat to the Republic. It could not have ended any other way."

"I simply think the Force must have favored me yesterday, as I can't think of any other reason why I succeeded...the virus had allowed him to completely control her mind. I hadn't wanted to fight her, but I had no choice, and...she bested me." Rianna says, glancing down at her wounded shoulder. "If I hadn't managed to find a way past the block on her mind...she was horrified when she discovered what he made her do. And then when I was able to confront Roch himself, after I defeated him, he pulled me out the window after him. That's how I ended up outside."

"Safe to say I don't think I've ever been so scared of anything before..."

"But you controlled your fear," Luminara says. "Despite being put in such a dire situation, you proved yourself to be capable of handling yourself well. Many would panic and cower, not knowing what to do. And perhaps Myraline besting you is simply a reminder that you are still only a Padawan, with much to learn."

Luminara finishes binding your lightsaber wound. It stings horribly as the bacta touches it.

"Nonetheless, you have proven yourself to be worthy of the title of Knight," Luminara says. "When the time comes, I have no doubt that you will pass your trials."

"I suppose you are right, Master," Rianna says, closing her eyes against the stinging pain from her injury. "And thank you."

Luminara lets you rest, but a short time later informs you that you have visitors.

"Who is it?" Rianna asks, sitting up in her bed and trying to not move her left shoulder or arm too much.

The first person to enter is a women with red hair that hangs in ringlets down her shoulders. She wears elaborate robes based upon the fashions of Naboo, and a double-edged lightsaber hangs from her belt, with a wooden grip and golden cup-shaped blade emitters.

"Master Clarion Breshene," she introduces herself with an awkward wave. "I'm escorting Senator Palpatine back to Coruscant, but he wished to see you before we departed."

Sure enough, Senator Palpatine steps in behind her, smiling warmly.

"Rianna! I am so glad to see that you made it through that ordeal. How do you fair?"

"I am...much better than I was yesterday, though Master Luminara has informed me I will need to rest a while still before I'm fully healed. Thank you, though, Senator, and I apologize that I did not end up being much of a bodyguard..." Rianna replies.

"I am alive and well, Rianna. I think that is evidence enough that you performed your duty satisfactorily," Palpatine praises. "I owe you my life."

"Come, Senator, your shuttle is waiting," Clarion says, somewhat naggingly.

"Oh, yes," Palpatine says. "Farewell, Rianna. Give my regards to your master, when she awakes. I am sure we will see each other again."

"I will, Senator, and farewell," Rianna replies, lying back again once they've left the room. She thinks it might be a good idea to try following Luminara's advice for as long as she can stand to stay in one spot.

Over the next few days, Luminara checks on you but is relatively busy helping keep things in order. She has taken it upon herself to be Ciira Treen's temporary Jedi Master and teacher, and so Ciira does not visit unless Luminara does.

She does seem a little hurt that you damaged her late Master's lightsaber. It broke when you fell. But she does thank you for rescuing her from Dall and for saving Beseedra.

Your last visitor is Jarko, who lumbers into the bedroom wearing a fine Beseedran suit. His armor and cybernetics have been repaired, but most of his head heavily bandaged after sustaining severe burns to his face.

"How are you?" Jarko asks, slowly as ever.

"I'm okay, I suppose," Rianna says, sitting up on the bed. By this point she's starting to get a bit restless and bored with resting. "Getting better, anyway. Umm...thank you for helping me. I would have died long before reaching Roch if you hadn't."

"I realize this," Jarko says. "His minions were too many for even a Jedi to handle. But you succeeded. I thank you for trusting me. I am sorry that Roch infected your master."

"Master Luminara tells me that Myraline should recover fine, but I haven't actually been able to see her myself yet. I'm supposed to rest myself," Rianna replies, looking down and flushing a bit. Despite the fact that he more or less saved her life, she still felt somewhat uncomfortable with him.

"And...I hope you understand why I was so wary and distrusting of you when you offered your help. What are you going to do now, though?"

"I am a free man," Jarko says. "I can do as I wish. I will leave Beseedra, though. I am known as an associate of Roch. The new Chairman has cleared me of crimes, but... there is nothing for me here, anyways."

"Do you know where you'll go, if you're going to leave Beseedra?" Rianna asks. She stays quiet for a moment before continuing. "You could go along with us to Coruscant when we leave here...after all, Myraline and I both owe you our lives, and I would never had succeeded if you hadn't helped. And you could do almost anything you wanted to there."

Jarko shakes his head.

"I am a freak, Rianna. I do not belong on Coruscant. I do not wish to turn to crime or become a mercenary to support myself. But someone of my durability and lethal skills could be of use in exploration. I do not know where I will go... but I am happy about that."

For the first time since meeting him, you see Jarko smile.

"Goodbye, Rianna."

It can be said that you never see Jarko again after he plods slowly out of your bedroom. The last you hear of him is the deployment of a powerful cyborg during one of the Republic few exploratory ventures in this time period. Nothing more after that.
