I checked out that Okami, but I don't really want to play as a dog; the parts of Twilight Princess when Link turns into a wolf/dog were the most annoying bits for me. Resident Evil looks good though.
Don't compare Okami's gameplay to Twilight Princess's wolf segments. Okami's would be more comparable to say human Link's gameplay just in a wolf form.
My top Wii games:
1.) Super Mario Galaxy
2.) Metroid Prime III: Corruption
3.) No More Heroes
4.) Zack and Wiki
5.) Super Smash Bros Brawl
Twilight Princess and RE4 don't make my list because they were both ports from the Gamecube. I consider them GC games not Wii games.
Oh and a Zelda Wii game has been rumored and that Twilight Princess would be the last traditional Zelda game. If that's a good thing or a bad thing I don't know.

OK, but I just didn't like the way the wolf ran (like a wolf) in Twilight Princess. If this was the case, am I going to dislike the movement in Okami, too?

I can't find anywhere that has an English language version of Zack and Wiki and No More Heroes over this way. Would them being in Japanese make it impossible to play?

My favorite Zelda game is Ocarina of Time for the N64. If they could create something as fun, challenging and enjoyable as that, then I'll be as happy as a fish in a sea of calm tropical waters. Twilight Princess is good, but I want something a little more special, please.

If you don't like how a wolf moves in general (like for real), then maybe you won't like it, but Okami feels a lot like Zelda (like when you're playing with Link), but it has it's own distinct feel, the painting mechanics makes it unique (the wiimote it's said to make even easier and faster to use the paintbrush)
No More Heroes it's pretty much straightforward, there's no way you could get lost. It tells you were to go in the map, and all you do it's slash your way to the boss fight, but half the fun the game has is the story, so I think you'll missing a lot of what makes it good. Game play isn't great, most of the time it's broken. The story holds much of it's appeal, It's stylish and funny (great anime and StarWars references)
You'll be lost at Zack and Wiki many times, but it won't be because of the language, the game it's a big puzzle, you have to figure out what to do, but it being in Japanese wouldn't affect much... nothing Gamefaqs can't fix...
... there's also multiplatform games you can try:
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga it's entertaining no matter what console you play it, great co-op multiplayer game, even if you don't like StarWars
and if you like GTA, you can try Bully: Scholarship Edition, plays much like a GTA game, in a smaller scale, and it's got a good storyline
My top 5:
1) Super Mario Galaxy
2) Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
3) Zack and Wiki
4) Wii Sport
5) No More Heroes
... I bought SSBB, but played it like for an hour and haven't touched it since (not because I don't like it, it's just that I haven't got time to play it, great game though)... And I haven't bought Mario Kart yet ( I know, I suck 😛 )
And everyone should give Bloom Box a try, I haven't bought it yet, but I was impressed when I played it
Yo, so I'm picking-up Metroid Prime III and Resident Evil 4 today thanks to the recommendations.
Also, I've been playing Pro Evolution Soccer (Football) 2008 for a couple of days now. The control system was tough at first, but I'm slowly getting into it. Some of the passing moves you can create are excellent. The only gripe is the stupid shaking-the-nunchuck-to-shoot thing. Hate that. Is there an alternative? Anyone else been playing this game?
Other than the language thing, Zack and Wiki is definitely a good idea (and even if it doesn't become a front row game for you, ther guys who made it certainly deserve more sales than they got).
You know, I'll go out on a limb here and say you probably COULD play a non-English version. Certainly I don't remember any of the actual gameplay segments being anything other than visual (though I have not finished it yet). None of the between-mission explanations will make sense but it's not essential and it's just a mattter of being clear on how to play, which isn't that hard.
Meanwhile, whilst it is JUST a rails shooting game and nothing else, I found Umbrella Chronicles surprisingly enjoyable, especially with a friend. People have shoved a load of easily made second rate titles onto Wii, mostly rubbish, but UC is 'King of the Second Raters', as it were, to the point where it's actually a pretty good game.
I am led to understand that the next version of Tiger Woods is shaping up to be darn good, btw.
I'd throw Soul Calibur Legends in there on the list, if you're a fan of the series. It takes place four years before Soul Calibur 2, and rather than being a simple fighter, allows you to control such series favorites as Siegfried, Ivy, Mitsurugi, Astaroth, Sophitia, and Taki, as well as guest character Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia in what I feel was a direction that Soul Calibur should have taken ages ago, even if just for spinoff purposes. It's a little touchy on attack combos, and some levels can be repetitive, but it is nice to play through just for the aesthetic value of the series, as well as finding out what happened to cause Siegfried's fusion with the Soul Edge to become Nightmare. (Not in spoilers as everyone should know that much by now. If not, someone please feel free to edit as necessary.)
Also, if you're a fan of the Wii Sports disc that came with your Wii, you might be interested in a game they've released called Ninja Reflex. I don't have any clue what it's about, but I've heard if you liked Wii Sports, it's a must-own.
