Shocker does need a respect thread. He is my favorite Spider-man villain. He defeated Spider-man on their first encounter, even though Spider-man had a broken arm before the battle. He has an awesome costume. That is the biggest reason why I like him, though. If he had a different costume, I probably wouldn't have cared much about him. But he is cool.
