Robocop Sequal
The remake that supposly coming is really a sequal
Bloody-Disgusting has learned that MGM and Phoenix Pictures are close to signing Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream) to direct the new "Robocop" movie, which will apparently be a sequel and not a remake. Here is the logline:"Present day Los Angeles, 20 years after the termination of the RoboCop program, the city decides to reinstate the program."
At one point, Aronofksy was in talks to re-do the Batman franchise, but that position ended up going to Christopher Nolan, who is now looking to release the second installment, "The Dark Knight," on July 18th. We will never know what Aronofsky would have done with Batman, but we may soon find out which direction he will take "RoboCop" into.
"RoboCop" is scheduled to appear in theaters in 2010.
Lets hope its as violent as the first two films and NOT PG rated like the third one.
