granted, harvey displayed some fairly good TP/battle feats in that series, but it was also shown that mainstream superman can give him a good fight (possibly beat him.)

Agreed. Mainstream Supes giving a fight isn't a very good reason IMO considering his insane track record. There did seem to be a gap between narration and actual display in "Superman's Reign" for Harvey though.
