Universal Pictures will be releasing an action pack movie called Death Race on August 22, 2008. Death Race is about an Ex-con Jensen Ames (Jason Statham) is forced by the warden of a notorious prison to compete in the post-industrial world's most popular sport: a car race in which inmates must brutalize and kill one another on the road to victory.

This movie features a few classic cars such as the Ford Mustang GT and Porsche 911, all bulked up with weapons and ready to battle and race with other vehicles.

It looks monumentally dumb. I still haven't figured out what the film's purpose is. The "villain" appears to have no motive whatsoever. It's ridiculous.

Well Jason Statham is one of the best yet the most under-rated action stars in Hollywood primarily confined to supporting roles. Other then the Transporter Series he has never been labeled as a leading hero. It's high time that this man got his due. I will be eagerly awaiting it's release. Any idea as to when it releases in the Asia Pacific.

Reminds me of "Twisted Metal" ofr ps1 or 2. And i liked that game alot. I may see this.
