Introduction

Marvel comic’s Canadian speedsters started their career in the pages of Alpha Flight and have had countless other appearances in various comics since their introduction. Throughout their history the duo have had many ups and downs from mental issues to even death, but they always seem to rebound from it. Their one of the fastest duos on Marvel earth and have more power and abilities than just their super speed, such as Aurora has so much variety to her power even more than her brother

Very detailed bio, and even mentions the Children of the Vault upgraded the twins were they could reach lightspeed without causing their bodies and the environment harm.

Marvel Universe Handbook #1:
Very old biography of Aurora and some errors such as she has been shown to go faster than even mach 2 and still not get hurt from wind friction. Heck even a 13 year old Aurora was shown going 1800.072 mph

Marvel X-Men Encyclopedia [Vol.2]:
After the operation from Weapon X they gave her new abilities. Once again they did not include her other light abilities such as lightening, concussion blasts, healing light, etc. I also don't know if after the Weapon X upgrades that Northstar is still faster, he always was but I don't know. Official Handbook Of The Marvel Universe - Master Edition #29:
Here is her bio, but this has some problems. I take it after regaining her powers in AF #83 she regained her speed potential of going 99% the speed of light. However, as stated she has better endurance then her brother but he can fly faster. The handbook has her having a faster speed on ground, when that's false since both can move faster running. Marvel X-Men Encyclopedia [Vol.2]:
Problems he always has been stated to be able to go sublight speed in all the handbooks except this one. They also state he has a three in energy projection. Well at this time, he could only cast light with his sister and she still had more variety and power by herself yet she got a 3 as well. Currently he can do the flashbang on his own. Problem Northstar is faster than Aurora always was, but they say he can only go subsonic on the ground when that's wrong. He ran from Montreal to New York State in one second [about to post scans], and on Pg.10 of this thread he runs 2.5km/sec. That's orbital velocity reaching Mach 18.7-Mach 23.3 [1-5 miles per second]. Here this scan makes comment that the twins have a resistance to a degree of cold and heat. The extent was never stated though. Aurora has returned to her normal body with her new abilities still in tact.

Flashbang

Alpha Flight #1 (Vol.1):
Originally, when the twins made contact, the pair could combine their mutant abilities to emit bursts of light. However, after Aurora chose to have her powers altered by Dr. Walter Langkowski (Sasquatch) to "cloak" her from mutant-detection devices such as Sentinels, she discovered that she could produce light on her own while, touching her brother adversely cancelled the ability. It appears that this may have become undone in recent years, returning this ability to its original state. Here the dup performs it on Tundra

He never reached the Firefountain, as Loki convinced him that his and his Aurora's mother had an Asgardian elf. Northstar was then fooled into believing that he was dying because he could not exist on earth without the light that the twins had once shared. This was later proved false

The Healing of the Twins

X-Men Annual #1 (Vol.1):
The twins have been manipulated by the Hand, Weapon X and recently by the Children of the Vault. Their only fragments of their former selves so the X-Men travel to the S.H.I.E.L.D helicarrier in attempt to cure them. Thier goal is to make them live their relive their life in a day, but the process is interupted and they eventually mind-meld. They eventually do their patent team-up to held cure themselves. Thank god their finally truely cured and back to normal....about TIME!

After being augemented by the Children of the Night, the twins take on the X-Men. Oddly they don't seem to have their elfish ears here. They also made comment, their powers arn't solar based in the issue but they can generate their own light and use it for a variety of purposes. Cable was an unexpected turn of events, the Children and the Twins didn't know he was here. Now they are allowed to reach lightspeed without any hinderance to their body, and this battles shows the new abilities

Basically this should happen to all her and Northstar fights. She can move so fast and her punches back a punch even one hit knocked out this burglar out cold. This is a few years after the incident below. What's interesting to note is her superhuman reflexes knew something was wrong, but since for many years she has not used her powers due to the monestry she was in believed it to be the work of the devil and she was beaten for it. So she knew something was wrong, but didn't act.

Alpha Flight #9 [Vol.1]:
Just 13 years old, Aurora is fed up with life and wants to end it. [She has split personalities] Upon jumping she finds out she can fly and not only that has incredible speed. For just learning her abilities now she roughly goes mach 2.3. Now that's impressive

Calculation:
Well this is a rough calculation, but I said 1.5 miles and 3 seconds to do it. For all I know it could have been a shorter distance or in a shorter time.

(1.5 miles)/(3/3600 hours)
=1.5/0.0008333
=1800.072mph

Completly out of character personality wise even for her crazy self. Basically she is going after her former life Wild Child for running away [since he turned into a beast and didn't want to face her] and wants to kill him. Totally out of character even for her split-personalities, but anyways here she is showing her concussion blasts. Here she is sending light from her whole body and sending those concussion blasts all over.

In the quest to fight Pestilence, the twins travel into a cave where Aurora generates light that shines from out her body. The deathly sick Northstar shows a speed feat creating a mini tornado to sent the rat army away. This is at the time with Walter's experiments that when they touch they don't emit light they actually cancel each others powers out.

When the evil Pestilence fed off the death and decay within Northstar's body, the illness was greatly worsened. He steadily grew more and more ill until he was almost completely incapacitated. The team went to find the Firefountain a source of magical power which they thought might have been able to cure him. He never reached the Firefountain, as Loki convinced him that his and his Aurora's mother had an Asgardian elf. Northstar was then fooled into believing that he was dying because he could not exist on earth without the light that the twins had once shared. Aurora expelled all of her light into her brother to save him leaving her powers drained, to be dragged off by demons. Northstar then flew to Asgard through a gate opened by Loki. In time Loki was summoned before the higher gods, They Who Sit Above in Shadow. To atone for his trickery he transported Aurora to a monastery. Northstar later gives half of his power back to Aurora and both regain their full power (during the Llan crisis)

Arcade makes Northstar go around the world battling various people and go to various places. He is near exhausted here, but still keeps on fighting. The Quebec terminal they start in is key to Northstar's history when he worked for the FLQ. They wanted to kill people at the bus terminal, so Northstar turns an act of terrorism to heroism. At this point he is running on empty.
