It's one of the worst scenes in the movie because it completely and totally beyond doubt validates what the movie made clear throughout its entirety: Loki is a joke.

Far too much humor in the movie is done at the expense of the villain's credibility. There can be no tension when it is painfully obvious how much of a loser the main antagonist is. Everyone makes Loki look like a fool.

The worst scene is where Black Widow manipulates Loki, who is kind of you know, the ****ing god of manipulation.

That Loki was far more complex and threatening in Thor just makes it more inexcusable.

Then you might wanna wash it down with "The Tunnel" which was up in it's entirety on youtube. Good Aussie flick.

He's overly arrogant(probably his main fault) and he clearly isn't a joke. He manipulated S.H.I.E.L.D. and all the Avengers, which consist of at least two ultra-geniuses.

His plan only failed because of one simple oversight, the doctor built in a safe-fail into the cube-device. As a villain, he's doomed to fail in the end.

His plan wasn't his. It was Thanos and the Chitauri's.

Almost every scene with Loki after the opening is used for humor at his expense.

I take it you were one of the few that did not like Avengers?

No I liked it.

I'm just not so caught up in sucking its balls that I will overlook every flaw.

Loki's the god of mischief, not manipulation.

The context makes the difference completely arbitrary.

And... Well no, he's the god of trickery, douchebag.

I agree with Nemebro.

Getting the cube and opening a gateway were his orders.

You just hate humor, cos you're a humorless assclown.

Wrong, and Hulk had a bloody nose after Thor decked him.

I can appreciate humor, cockbitch.

Thor's "You people are so petty... And tiny" for example was hilarious, mostly due to his hilariously goofy grin as he says it which contrasted with the incredibly tense situation. Everyone else is reaching the breaking point, but Thor is reacting like a kid watching a Disney cartoon.

Funny.

*****.

manipulation is a key part of his character tho. Most of his plotlines involve him manipulating someone into doing his bidding.

I agree with Nem, that part of the movie with Widow and Loki was dumb.

I'm sure the original Norse beliefs aren't very well translated into English. They probably didn't differentiate between mischief and tricks. The point is that Loki isn't portrayed as some Chessmaster. He's the guy whose plan to get Thors hammer back from giants was to dress Thor in drag and marry him to the Giant King.

Even in the Thor movie his plan was to sneak frost giants in just for shits and giggles.

Thanos and the Chitauri didn't micro-manage, otherwise Loki would have known he needed iridium before the doctor told him "hey, I need iridium." His orders were to secure the cube and open a gate, the little bits, planning and scheming in between were his. Or was it the semen in your eyes?

Nope, anusgimp.

Agreed, that was funny, but Thor was dripping with contempt and scorn for those around him at that point, cos of Loki's manipulations/staff.

So we'll make that -2 for Nemebro.

he called you cockbitch tho.

+1 for Nem.

He's also the guy who engineered the death of Baldr.

And in the Thor movie he plays the Asgardians and the Jotuns against eachother, acquires Gungnir, and nearly destroys the world of Jotunheim, killing its leader and his father in the process.

In the Avengers, he comes short of wrecking a city.

Loki was also a far more complex character in Thor.

Loki's plan to acquire Iridium consisted of "Crash party, steal eyeball, bitches kneel". His best showing in the movie was orchestrating Hulk's awakening, but that is undercut by being a ***** ass nigga in most other scenes, especially the Black Widow one. 30ish year old spies manipulating the god known for manipulation ftl, ****er.

What a homo.

Thor had a goofy ass grin, your argument is invalid, and I am much smarter than you.

One upping a dirty Mexeecan that can barely speak English is hardly praiseworthy. uhuh

I asked Robtard if he had any oranges for sale. He looked at me with a blank stare and said, "No se. Lemon Pledge."

So you now agree, it was his plan. Good. That was a weak showing with Widow, but it was plot device and it played to Loki's weakness, his arrogance.

Fixed that for you.

LoL, Thor's contempt for "you people" was clear; Loki's staff/powers worked on him just the same. Only in your wettest dreams.

Yes, the plan to steal Iridium was Loki's, which I never denied. If by "played to Loki's weakness" you mean "Black Widow casually outwitted the god most known for his wits save maybe Odin", then yes you are right. Worst scene in the movie.

You're such an assblaster.

I never said he lacked contempt or that Loki's staff wasn't affecting him. Only noting that Thor's goofy expression rendered your argument as impotent as your genitals. 😄

Spoiler:
That last part might have gotten too personal. Erectile dysfunction is no laughing matter. I'm sorry. 🙁
